"I can't believe they let you teach."

Anakin was on a bench by the playground equipment watching his two children as they played.

Christopher ate sand. Anakin smiled.

Juliet jumped off the step side of the slide--Anakin caught her with the Force and smiled. Juliet blinked: that was not the expression she'd expected from her daddy when she did something that reckless. Being half Skywalker, she immediately beelined for a tree twice as tall as the slide to climb up and jump from.

...and Anakin smiled.

Mellow Anakin might be creepier than scary Anakin.

Rory had been complaining about her back hurting today, so Anakin had taken Juliet with him to the island. He'd gotten all the way to his office and was in the process of unlocking the door when his comlink went off.

"Skywalker," he said immediately. "Oh....not back cramps. Contractions. I'll be there as fast as I can."

There was a pause.

"Yes, I'll drive within the speed limits."

This was a lie.

"And I'll bring you a smoothie."

That wasn't.

He disconnected the phone and crouched down to smile at Juliet. "I think you get to meet your little brother today!"

Juliet frowned. "No. Big brother."

Anakin sighed as he picked her up and headed back to the car. He figured time would sort that little problem out on its own.
