Vader was in his office.

Alone.

On Valentine's Day.

Does "in a mood" even have to be mentioned?

The door was cracked open.

Yeah, Aeryn knows she's probably getting Vader in a bad mood. She brought Risk, though. Hopefully that will help.

She knocks, saying, "Just me."

There was a long pause as Vader pulled himself back from some terribly important brooding.

"Enter."

She might be holding the game at an angle where he's more likely to see that before her. She knows about things like strategic positioning. "Am I interrupting?"

Vader's eyes focused on the box. "Nothing that cannot wait," he said.

Aeryn smiles a little and steps further into the room. "I was hoping you would say that."

"Enter!" Vader barked.

"Y'know," Dean said, leaning against the door jamb when he came in, "you really need to work on your phone manners."

The coffee mug on Vader's desk shattered completely of its own accord.

Except not.

"And you need to work on your tone," Vader snapped back.

"You know, I always thought it incredibly amusing that a day people decided to associate with love and happiness is named for a horrific murder and massacre."

"Do you suppose anyone would notice if we killed a few off? In the spirit of the holiday season?" Vader asked idly.

"Probably," Schrodinger responded sadly. "They're very good about noticing that sort of thing. At least on school grounds. I've found there's a few places on the island where fights go unnoticed by the staff."

"The cliffs, for one," Vader said, nodding. "The troopers can be persuaded to look the other way."

Well, if you're Darth Vader, they can be.

Once she could finally breathe after laughing so hard at Vader's message on her phone, Turtle figured she could spare a few moments before returning to work to be her 'earliest convenience' and stop by and see him about this mentor thing.

She knocked on the door with a quick little tune, and reminded herself that she wasn't going to laugh. She was going to try her best not to laugh.

Ohhhh, but it would be so difficult.

"Enter!" Vader snapped.

No laughing, Turtle. Mentoring was serious business.

"Lord Vader!" she burst brightly into the office. "You're back! I missed you terribly in class this week!"

"I can only imagine," Vader said dryly. "Was Miss Katara an acceptable substitute?"

Katara totally eep'd when she heard Darth Vader's voicemail. But she was not showing it at all when she knocked on his door.

Vader wasn't inclined to make it easy on her.

Yeah, now she was showing eep-age. Katara pushed open the door and came in. "Welcome back." There was a very little bit of question at the end of that statement.

"I have returned, yes," Vader said. "And the school still seems to be in one piece."

He sounded slightly disappointed about that.

Rory was pretty damn sure that there was only one person who'd send her an anonymous red rose. So she showed up at Vader's office hours with said rose in hand, the other hand behind her back, and an eyebrow raised.

Vader had absolutely not been spinning a pink rose between his gloved hands.

Nor was he now slamming that flower into his desk drawer in a slightly guilty way.

Rory smiled a little and quietly shut the door. "Well, it's not a turnip or anything, but thank you."
