Office hours [all day]

Anakin had a bad feeling about today. He kept putting his hand on the back of his neck to rub at the hair there, certain he was being watched.

He hoped that the feeling had nothing to do with the news he had to share with Jaina, Ben, and Luke. He left ~~oh so handwavy~~ messages for them, then stared at his comlink, trying to figure out exactly how to tell Luke he was going to be a big brother.

Anakin sighed. "Close the door."

Ben did, then leaned against it. There was no way he was getting closer.

"This is a very long story," Anakin said. "You should probably get comfortable."

"I'm fine here," Ben replied, crossing his arms over his chest. "Jaina said that you used to be...you know. The way I heard the story ending is you died on the Death Star and Dad burned your body on Endor. No one ever said anything about 'and then he taught ethics in a different galaxy.'"

Anakin chuckled. "Yes, I suppose that does sound a little strange. In my reality, Palpatine had made several clones of me to use for..." he glanced over at his grandson, remembered how old he was and modified the story somewhat, "nefarious purposes. I absolutely died on the Death Star. I just...didn't die permanently, I suppose. I ended up in a cloned body, which didn't need a suit."

Ben stared at him. "You know that sounds insane, right? So how old are you?"

"The body is 25," Anakin said. He pointed to his forehead. "In here, I'm 48."

"Dad's older than you?" Ben squeaked out.

Oh, that just wasn't right.

"Is he?" Anakin asked.

"He's sixty," Ben said, nodding.

Anakin's jaw dropped.

"Rory's having a baby," he finally blurted.

Ben stared.

"Ewww," he finally mustered.

No one should think about their grandfather having sex. Ever ever ever.

"Oh, thank you very much," Anakin said sourly.

"You're my grandfather," Ben said, still looking grossed out. "It's icky."

"It is not," Anakin paused, "'icky.' It's a beautiful expression of love."

In Ben's most elaborate nightmares, he'd never imagined Darth Vader saying "beautiful expression of love."

He looked absolutely horrified.

"I'm going to go now," he babbled. "I have a shuttle to catch."

"Where are you going?" Anakin asked, furrowing his brow.

"Home," Ben said. "Jacen asked for me. Byeee!"

And with that he was out the door.

Anakin stared after him. "Jacen?"
