Anakin was hard at work at his desk: plastic balls, lots of glitter, soft music playing...

Yes, he'd decided that Jaina's Luke's future child was going to be spoiled rotten, so he was back to making toys for a Force-sensitive infant.

He'd welcome an interruption, though.

"I got to pick out tuxedos," Anakin said. "Oh! And try cake."

"Oh, the important stuff," she said, and meant it.

[sith_happened]

"There's going to be a cake as tall as I am," Anakin said. "Rory was very specific about that."

[solo_sword]

Jaina was going to get teased so much for being shorter than the cake. "Is there a reason for that?"

[sith_happened]

"She really likes cake," Anakin replied. "I talked her out of a cake the size of me with her on my shoulders."

At least, he thought he had.

[solo_sword]

"Yeah, that would just be excessive," she said wryly. "Unless you want the guests in sugar comas by the end of the night."

[sith_happened]

He paused. "I wonder if there's any other food involved. Maybe I should ask."

[solo_sword]

"That would probably be a good idea," Jaina said with a smile. "At least so you can tell people when they ask. If they ask. I don't know if they do."

[sith_happened]

"I don't either," he admitted. "I didn't when John and Aeryn got married. I was more concerned with if weapons were allowed or not."

[solo_sword]

Good question, actually. "Will they be?"

He gave her a small smile. "I wasn't planning on asking. Just don't keep it anywhere overly noticeable."

[solo_sword]

"Maybe I should have gotten the dress with the pockets," she said. "You know, I didn't have to say things like that before coming here."

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "No hold-out blaster under a skirt? Padmé had one."

Of course, she could have fit an entire Stormtrooper squad under some of those skirts...

"I've seen that clothing. That doesn't surprise me," she said. "Could wear long sleeves and a wrist-holster."

[sith_happened]

"Vibroblades work in waistbands, too," Anakin advised.

[solo_sword]

"A little messy for a wedding, don't you think?"

[sith_happened]

"Do you think better or worse than a lightsaber to cut cake?"

This was actually a consideration. Sigh.

[solo_sword]

"Better. But use a knife."

[sith_happened]

Anakin made a face. "I suppose..." He rolled the completed baby toy towards her using a nudge of the Force. "What have you been doing?"

[solo_sword]

Jaina caught the toy, picking it up to study it. "Nothing like this," she said, and shrugged. "I went on the spring break trip. Other than that it's been classes and tinkering in the garage."

[sith_happened]

"Tinkering is always good," he said with a smile. "I've been trying to work on a cloaking device for the shuttle but keep running into problems."

He waved at the ball. "Push at it with the Force. The glitter should separate into gold, red, and blue stripes."

[solo_sword]

"What kinds of problems?" she asked, pushing at the ball with the Force as instructed and watching the glitter move. "Very nice."

[sith_happened]

Anakin explained the problem in detail, ending with, "so the shuttle turns kind of blurry for about half of it, and makes everyone inside nauseous."

[solo_sword]

Jaina paused. "Yeah, that might need to get fixed," she said. "I could look at it, if you don't mind. Seeing as how I'm more technologically advanced and all."

[sith_happened]

Anakin smirked but let it go. Sort of. "That would be fine," he said. "I have one on the speeder but it's not converting over."
