Anakin was hard at work at his desk: plastic balls, lots of glitter, soft music playing...

Yes, he'd decided that Jaina's Luke's future child was going to be spoiled rotten, so he was back to making toys for a Force-sensitive infant.

He'd welcome an interruption, though.

Jaina came down to the office, greeting her grandfather with, "Hi, and if you've got any issues with singing day, can we get those over with now so we can get on with the normal conversation?"

Might as well put that out there now.

Anakin opened his mouth to complain--he sang at me...his hair's funny-looking...he's so annoying--and closed it again. "No issues."

She raised her eyebrows like she didn't exactly believe that. "You're sure?"

Anakin nodded. "Nothing new, anyway," he said. "It was just...set to music. And odd."

She'd been really worried she was going to have to defend her relationship, so she was much better with this. "I've never been so glad to have missed out on something," Jaina said. "So you sang, huh?"

Anakin nodded, cheeks flushing. "Only a little," he said defensively.

"I'm so sorry I missed it," she said, looking amused. Nevermind that she probably would have been singing, too. Not the point.

"I'm not," Anakin said with a rueful chuckle. "Rory was plenty entertained."

"Oh, I'm sure," she said. "And you, by the way, did not tell me the wedding was moved up."

"It happened really quickly," Anakin replied. "Rory's grandmother was planning this monstrosity of a wedding for us in June so we just...decided to move it sooner than that."

Beat.

"I don't think we've told her that yet."

"If she was planning a monstrosity of a wedding, I'd advise a sneak attack anyway," Jaina said thoughtfully.

Anakin grinned. "I'm good at planning sneak attacks, but the logistics of this are a little out of my expertise area."

"Nothing like learning on the fly," she grinned. "It just keeps things interesting." At least for this sort of thing, she supposed.

Isabel knocked lightly on the door frame.

Anakin looked up from his project and waved her in. "Hi."

"Hi," she smiled. "New project?"

"Baby toys for a Force-sensitive infant," Anakin said. "I'm going to be a grandfather again in Jaina's galaxy."

"Congratulations, that's wonderful," Isabel replied. "These will keep him occupied until it's time for pillow fights?"

"That's the plan," Anakin said. "The younglings at the Temple always had these to keep them busy."

He held up a ball. Golden glitter was floating in one half and red and blue glitter was pooled in the second. "You should be able to get it to work--it's just telekinesis. There's enough red glitter in the blue to make a stripe between the two layers."

He looked terribly pleased with himself.

It took a moment or two of concentration, but Isabel was able to get the colors separated into fairly distinct layers. "All of my potential kids had my powers," she said, still focusing on separating out the last bits of glitter. "I'm going to have to contact you when, well if, that time ever comes. This is a step up from the Baby Einstein toys."

Anakin snickered. "If the teaching thing doesn't work out, I can open a toy store. It might be the only job I'm even less qualified for."

"I'd say clown. Only because I have a hard time picturing you with a red rubber nose, face paint and floppy shoes." With robes. Which was a mental image that made her chuckle just a bit.

Anakin made a face at her. "That's quite an image," he teased.

"One I would quite possibly pay money to see," Isabel replied. "And I bet there's some people around that would pay me if I got pictures."

Anakin's expression looked much less amused now. "That won't be happening."

Such a sense of humor. Really.
