Anakin shut the door to Rory's suite with the kind of careful precision that only meant he really wanted to slam it until it fell off its hinges.

"Tell me I don't have to go back to that house."

"Yeah." She kissed his cheek. "I mean...yeah. It's just frustrating."

Anakin shifted so he could wrap both arms around her and pulled her back against his chest. "More ice cream?" he asked, holding it in front of both of them.

"You have to ask?" she replied, tilting her head back to kiss his jaw.

He made a contented little noise. "I just wanted to check before I ate it all," he teased, dripping a bit onto her nose before kissing it off.

"Mmm, that is a mean threat," she decided, frowning very sternly indeed.

Anakin dabbed a bit of the ice cream onto her lower lip and then helpfully removed that as well. "I'm a very mean person," he murmured.

"You are," she agreed, nipping his lower lip in return.

He let out a happy little sigh. "This is much better than the last dinner," he said, snugging her a little closer.

"Most things are, since the last dinner was horrific," she murmured, cuddling close.

Anakin held out another spoonful of ice cream. "We should do this more often," he said. "Date nights, not horrible dinner with your grandparents."

"Yeah, we kinda never really...date anymore," she said thoughtfully.

He kissed the top of her head. "Not that we ever really got through movies anyway," he said with a chuckle. "Real food now? And something to drink?"

"Real food!" she agreed.

And after some Chinese food, and lots and lots of vodka, Rory was definitely not feeling any pain anymore.

"Do I look like I have a baby in me?" she wondered tipsily, poking at her flat stomach.

"Not even a little," Anakin assured with her with the elaborate solemnity of the pretty plowed. He tipped over to kiss her stomach. "Not that you won't look very adorable in the very, very far off future."

"Babies are loud," she mumbled, frowning.

"I'm not saying we get one from the supermarket right now," Anakin said, making himself comfortable on her lap, "or that Grandma was even a little bit right--'cause she wasn't--but they're not all bad."

"They cry a lot," she decided, petting his hair.

"Only if you're doing something wrong," Anakin said, kissing her stomach again.

"Nuh uh! Sometimes just for funsies," she said, shaking her head.

"Regardless of what she said, we won't find out for years," Anakin said, tracing patterns on her leg. "Though the practicing part is fun."

"It is," she agreed. "I take pills so babies won't happen though, so yay."

"Yay," Anakin echoed, letting his hands sneak a little further up her shirt.

"You're handsy," she noted helpfully.

"I can stop," Anakin said, looking up at her. "I just spend a lot of time thinking about you when I'm not here."

Alcohol had made him honest.

"What do you think about?" she wondered, tiptoeing fingers along his chest.
