Anakin shut the door to Rory's suite with the kind of careful precision that only meant he really wanted to slam it until it fell off its hinges.

"Tell me I don't have to go back to that house."

Rory kissed him.

"I love you," he whispered, pulling her closer.

"I love you too," she whispered. "So much."

"Good thing you're marrying me, then," he said, kissing her nose.

"Very very," she said, nodding and brushing his hair off his forehead.

Anakin let out a contented sigh. "You are far too good for me," he said, running his hand down her back.

"Nuh uh," she argued coherently.

Anakin smiled at her. "Yuh huh."

"Nope," she declared.

"I could go off mad now and make you grovel," Anakin threatened.

Rory wrapped herself around him as best she could. "Noes. I'd be cold and sad. Stay here. Sleepy."

Anakin relented--not that he'd been planning anything else--and kissed her forehead. "Very well," he said, beginning to rub circles on her back. "I'll stay."

"Good boy," she murmured. "I'm kinda drunk."

Anakin leaned closer to her ear. "No regretting any of this tomorrow, my love," he whispered, starting to knead her shoulders.

"Might regret the wordses," she informed him sleepily.

"Don't regret the words," Anakin said, moving his hands soothingly. "I loved the words."

"But I don't say things like that."

Anakin kissed the back of her neck. "I'm not saying you need to give up being a journalist and turn to a life as professional pirate, but it worked for me. Especially because you don't say things like that."

Rory realized she didn't really have a lot of room to talk here, but still.

His cheeks went pink as he nodded. "Seriously."

Anakin rested his head on his free hand and smiled at her. "I love you."

"Go to sleep, my love," he whispered, kissing her cheek. "I'll be here."
