Office hours [all day Tuesday]

Anakin had a giant cup of coffee and no hope that Rory would be bouncing through the door with pastries.

He was Totally Okay with that. Really.

...just don't ask him.

Besides, he was far too busy fiddling with his lesson plans to notice who wasn't going to visit today.

The door was open.

River knocked lightly, then stuck her head around the door. "Hello," she said.

"Hello, River," Anakin said, smiling softly. "Come in."

River wanted to ask for help with something that wasn't exactly class related, so she had thought it a good idea to bring a few of her latest batch if cookies, this time horseradish and cherry syrup flavoured. Here, that seemed a little obvious and she awkwardly placed the plastic bag containing the cookies on Anakin's desk. "Can I ask you something?"

Anakin smiled down at the bag. "You don't have to bring me anything for me to answer a question," he said, voice light. "What would you like to know?"

"I know. I need you help. Wanted to offer something in return." She smiled a little nervously. "I would like to get my spaceship flying."

Gavin didn't have classes today so he had plenty of time to go and see Luke's dad. He just spent some time beforehand making sure he wouldn't call him Luke's dad.

Once he thought he had it, he stopped in front of the open door and peered inside. "Sir?"

"Mister Darklighter," Anakin replied, inclining his head. "How can I help you?"

"I just had a few questions for you," he said, stepping inside the room. "If you have the time."

"I have the time," Anakin said, gesturing towards an empty chair. "What would you like to know?"

"Thank you," he said, taking the offered seat. "First off, would it be all right, and I'd ask Luke, if I could see the flight sim again? There are a few people who'd like to learn that didn't take your class and I said I'd see about showing them."

"So how's my dog doing?"

The smile was evident in Rory's voice.

"He's taking the shuttle for a few laps around the planet," Anakin teased. "How's Yale?"

"Wonderful," Rory sighed. "I found a study spot."

Molly had made a point to check when Anakin would be having his office hours so, after her class and lunch, she went to go visit since it had been forever since she had talked to him.

She knocked politely on the door frame to get his attention.

A huge smile split his face. "Molly!"

Molly smiled brightly in return. "Hello, Anakin," she said and walked in. "Long time no see, huh?"

"This side of forever, really," Anakin said, standing up and moving around his desk for a hug.

Molly bounced over and hugged him tightly (but not too tightly).

Jaina knocked on the door after class, flight shed keys in hand.

Anakin had totally not been beating his head against the desk. Ignore the thudding noise.

"Hello," he said, smiling. "Did you have a good date?"

If the question came out sounding a lot like "do I need to smite anyone?" well, old habits die hard.

The thudding sound got an eyebrow raise, but he'd pretty much immediately staved off any line of conversation she had in mind. "Yes, and be good please," she said, walking over to hand off the keys. "All in one piece, I even put the settings all back the way you had them."

"I'll be good if he is," Anakin decided. "And thank you for returning these. Gavin might ask you about them later--he was in earlier today looking for them."

"I'll let him know you've got them if I see him," Jaina said. "I might be asking again at some point. It really is good practice."
