Anakin had a giant cup of coffee and no hope that Rory would be bouncing through the door with pastries.

He was Totally Okay with that. Really.

...just don't ask him.

Besides, he was far too busy fiddling with his lesson plans to notice who wasn't going to visit today.

The thudding sound got an eyebrow raise, but he'd pretty much immediately staved off any line of conversation she had in mind. "Yes, and be good please," she said, walking over to hand off the keys. "All in one piece, I even put the settings all back the way you had them."

"I'll be good if he is," Anakin decided. "And thank you for returning these. Gavin might ask you about them later--he was in earlier today looking for them."

"I'll let him know you've got them if I see him," Jaina said. "I might be asking again at some point. It really is good practice."

Anakin nodded, eyes serious. "If you get a chance to get some of the training tapes from back home, feel free to use them. I'd like to get a chance to see for myself, really. I might see something you don't."

"Thanks," she said, grateful. "I know this is something you can never truly be an expert at, but it's worth it to try."

Anakin gave her a wry smile. "I've been doing this for almost forty years," he said. "All you need is one person to have a lucky shot and you're having a real bad day. Practice. Practice, practice, practice. I'll be unhappy if you miss something because you didn't have enough of a chance to learn how to see it coming."

"So will I," she said with a little smile back. "I can't stay long, I just wanted to make sure you got the keys back in a timely manner."

"I appreciate it," Anakin said. "I'll see you in class?"

[solo_sword]

"I'll be there," she promised, and headed for the door.
