Ye olde shuttle parking [morning]

There was less than a week until Rory left.

Anakin was trying not to panic.

This...wasn't really working.

Which was why a slightly important part of the shuttle was in pieces around him as he tinkered around, his shirts and robe in a neatly folded pile on the shuttle ramp.

Anakin dropped his head. "Correction taken," he said softly.

Rory sighed. "Plus my ringtone for you is dorky and I don't want to annoy my professors."

"I have my own ringtone?" Anakin smiled over at her. "Did I know that?"

"You and Luke both do," she said, shrugging.

"Different ones?" Anakin asked, clicking components together, "or does my family have a theme song?"

"What's mine?" he asked.

"Secret."

It was Ever the Same. There was no way she'd tell him.

"I've got your phone. I could call it and find out," he threatened.

He'd never do it.

He had to fight back the instinct to kiss the pout away--friends don't do that--and smirked at her instead. "Or I'll take away the pastries."

The console pinged.

He frowned at it. "Or you can be saved by arriving in-system."

"That's the first time I've ever been happy to hear that thing," Rory grumbled.

"It's supposed to like me best," Anakin grumbled, reaching to the console and pulling them out of hyperspace.

And staring. "Ohhh."

Rory stared. "Oh my."

He tore his eyes away from the vision in front of him to enjoy Rory's reaction as well. "It's like your eye," he said. "Only huge."

He thought Rory's were prettier, but he was pretty much hopeless on that entire subject.

"My eyes don't look like that," she whispered.

"Your eyes are prettier," Anakin replied.

Rory glanced at him. "You're dorkfacing," she said, very softly.

"Am I?" Anakin replied, not turning away.

"Little bit," she breathed.

"I could stop," he said, moving closer.

"Um." Rory had kind of forgotten how to breathe.

He focused on her eyes, ready to jump back the moment she looked uncomfortable.
