Ye olde shuttle parking [morning]

There was less than a week until Rory left.

Anakin was trying not to panic.

This...wasn't really working.

Which was why a slightly important part of the shuttle was in pieces around him as he tinkered around, his shirts and robe in a neatly folded pile on the shuttle ramp.

Rory glanced at him. "You're dorkfacing," she said, very softly.

"Am I?" Anakin replied, not turning away.

"Little bit," she breathed.

"I could stop," he said, moving closer.

"Um." Rory had kind of forgotten how to breathe.

He focused on her eyes, ready to jump back the moment she looked uncomfortable.

And not sure if she was going to.

"I don't think it's a good idea," she said softly.

"Me stopping?" Anakin murmured.

"The other thing," she replied, leaning a little closer.

Anakin licked his lips. "You're sure?"

"Bad idea." Rory needed to stop staring at his mouth.

And he needed to stop watching her eyes.

Any minute now he would. Really.

"You don't need any more complications," he agreed, pulling back.

Being noble or begging to be smacked. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference with Anakin.

Rory bit her lip hard, snapping herself back to reality. "Right. You neither."

The dorkface was back. "You're never a complication."

"You are," she replied gently.

That got him to look away. "I know," he said, sounding a little ashamed.

Rory busied herself with her pastry. "Not a bad thing."

"It made you dump me, so I'm going to have to disagree," Anakin said before he could stop himself.

"That's an interesting definition of what you think I mean by you being a complication," she said, glancing at him.

His cheeks flushed. "I realize that situation stretches the definition of complicated a bit..."

"You were complicated before I knew about that."

He gave her a small smile. "But you were bored dating less complicated ones," he said, voice a little hopeful.

"I need to adjust," she said. "Find a happy medium or something."
