Ye Olde Shuttle Parking [early afternoon]

Well, his date with Rory had been called on account of dinosaurs, you know, as it so often was, and Anakin'd had to go kill a T-Rex (he'd looked it up when he'd gotten home, just so he could ~~brag about it~~ tell people later) who'd been silly enough to try to mess with his family.

Now he was humming happily to himself as he washed the shuttle down. It had been far too long since he'd gotten to really cut loose like that.

Rory nodded, kissing his shoulder. "I missed this. How heavy you are and the way we match up, and how your skin feels," she murmured, lost in it for the moment.

"You're too smart not to know this already," Anakin whispered, punctuating his words with kisses, "but I adore every inch of you."

Sadly, time had not made him more eloquent.

"I missed you. Not even the sex -- missed that too, but that's not what I mean. I missed this. You being here, on me, and melting into couches and car seats and beds and being more than okay with not being able to tell where I stop and you start," she replied, kissing along his neck.

Anakin let out a needy little moan and ruthlessly quashed the tears that threatened to mist up his his eyes.

"Just try to make me let go," he replied, clinging tightly. "You're my Rory. Always have been. Always will be. I was an idiot to leave."

"I would've made you," she murmured, clinging just as tightly. "Can't be so selfish as to hold up a galaxy because I needed you."

Anakin tangled his fingers in her hair. "And look how well that turned out," he said sadly. "You would've yelled, Aeryn would've hit me and I wouldn't have...done a lot of things."

He scraped his nails down her back. "You used to pull me back from an edge I didn't know I was skirting. Without you, I was lost."

"You saw what I was like without you," Rory replied softly. "I'm not saying anything stupid like how I'm incomplete without you, or anything, but...I'm different with you. I like who I am."

A thousand different ways to reply to that flooded through Anakin's mind, many using words he wasn't ready to say yet.

So he tilted his head to kiss her, hoping the gesture would make up for most of it.

Rory was always okay with kissing as an answer to anything.

Anakin's hands drifted back down towards her breasts, tweaking them gently. "You should always like who you are," he whispered in her ear, "because you are brilliant and beautiful and funny. That I can't take my eyes off you is a small, small thing."

"No, I know -- I just like this me. I'm different. I feel...this is ridiculous, but I feel grown-up with you. I know I'm not, but I feel like it."

Anakin pulled her closer and kissed her forehead, then leaned his head against hers. "You're my Rory," he whispered, "and you grew up too fast, but I've never thought of you as a little kid. I'm supposed to be dead--what's a little age gap in comparison?"

"I'm not done being eighteen," she said softly. "I'll hold you back."

"Where am I going?" Anakin countered, snuggling closer. "I'm more than happy right where I am."

"I like you here, too," Rory said softly, threading her hand through his curls.

"I love how you do that," he sighed, burying his head against her neck and skimming his hands along her waistband.

"It's different," Rory said obviously, repeating the gesture. "Don't have a braid to play with anymore."

His head ducked down to lick across her collarbone again. "In that case, the curls are all yours," he said, bucking his hips up a bit.

Rory smiled, arching up. "And all of me is yours."

Anakin dipped his head down so she couldn't see his eyes. "All of you?" he murmured, dropping kisses along her shoulders, then moving down. "Like this part? And this one?"

Rory sighed, arching up. "Uh huh."

His hands wrapped around her waist and he kissed the skin below her naval as she arched. "And here?"

"Yes," Rory said a bit throatily, "there too."

His tongue dipped back below the waistband of her pants before he reminded himself of the baby steps.

"You are so beautiful," he whispered.

Rory squirmed in frustration. "This is not a very fair game, sweetie," she finally managed.
