Ye Olde Shuttle Parking [early afternoon]

Well, his date with Rory had been called on account of dinosaurs, you know, as it so often was, and Anakin'd had to go kill a T-Rex (he'd looked it up when he'd gotten home, just so he could brag about it tell people later) who'd been silly enough to try to mess with his family.

Now he was humming happily to himself as he washed the shuttle down. It had been far too long since he'd gotten to really cut loose like that.

"Hi," Rory called, wandering up with her hands in her pockets. "Did anything try to eat you yesterday?"

"Maybe," Anakin said with a smirk, "but I killed it first."

Rory stopped in her tracks. "Wait, I was kidding. What'd you kill?"

"A T-Rex," Anakin said oh-so-casually. His eyes flashed much less casually. "It put Luke into the clinic for a bit."

"Is he all right?" Rory asked immediately. "I should call him -- is he hurt?"

"He got thrown around pretty good," Anakin said, lips thinning, "and his arm's broken, but he insisted on leaving the clinic whether it was good for him or not. I don't know where he gets that."

Silly Anakin.

"So, yes, if you could call him, I'd appreciate it," he said with a small smile. "He won't tell me if he's hurt."

"Yeah, no idea," she commented dryly, fishing around in her bag for her purse. "Think he's sleeping?"

"He has a couple of workshops today," Anakin said thoughtfully, "so probably. I told him to work on his healing techniques, too."

"I'll check on him," she promised, putting her phone IT ALWAYS SAID PHONE away. "...you killed a T-Rex?"

Anakin gave her a cocky smile. "Yup."

"And you're okay?" she asked worriedly, stepping a little closer to take inventory.

"I'm completely fine," Anakin said, tipping her chin up to look at him, "but I'd be happy to have you make a more complete examination."

He thought he was Terribly Smooth. He was very, very wrong.

Rory raised her eyebrows, blushing. "Smooth."

Anakin smirked back. "Thank you."

"Sarcasm, honey."

"So you don't want to be kissed, then, huh?" he countered smugly.

Rory reached up to pull his face down to hers. "Hush, you."

Anakin hushed.

Mmm. Kissing.

"You killed a giant dinosaur all by yourself?" she murmured, nudging her nose against his. "That's...kind of hot."

"That's not why I did it," Anakin replied, resting his hands low on her hips, "but I'll remember the added benefit for next time."

"Not as hot as if it'd gone after me and you'd swooped in all white-knightish," she commented, threading her arms around his neck. "But up there."

"I did that with the cat and got nowhere," Anakin teased, kissing her neck. "Should we go inside, maybe?"

"You didn't get nowhere," she commented, kissing his cheek and hurrying in. "I was saving it."

"For now?" Anakin asked hopefully, slapping the control panel that would raise the ramp closed. "Because properly thanking a hero is a very important baby step."

"Depends on what you consider proper thanks," she said impishly, strapping herself in.
