Anakin was in the office finishing up his grading.

Which meant that he was more than a little eager for a distraction.

Any distraction.

Jamie stopped and stuck his head into Anakin's office with a somewhat sheepish look.

"Hey."

Anakin gave him a small nod. "Good morning, Jamie. Where's your other self today?"

"Not sure exactly," Jamie said entering the office with a package under his arm. "He's picking me up tomorrow morning over on the causeway."

He kind of shuffled his feet for a second. "So. Um. What happened in the woods? I just wanted to thank you for being there to stop me from doing something I would have regeretted."

"I'm glad I was there in time," Anakin said gravely, "but I'm not sure you would've gone through with it."

"Well, I was pretty freaked out," Jamie replied still looking a little troubled at the though. "But it looks like I'm just going to be away from the summer but I wanted to drop by and say thank you for your help this year."

He then reached in his coat pocket and pulled out a slighty chewed up rubber ball and tossed it toward his mentor.

"Anyhow I just thought I'd give you a little memento from one of our mentoring sessions."

A shy girl with thick, curly hair poked her head in the door. "Um. Hello?"

"Um. Hi, Mr. Skywalker," she said, scuffing her feet. "I wanted to apologize for bothering you while I was five."

She gave a little wave. "I was Pammie. Otherwise known as Pam Beesly, hi."

Aeryn's not sure how much longer Anakin will be having office hours, so she's taking advantage of them while they're there. Hence the knock at the door.

Anakin looked up with a grateful smile. "Can I give everyone B+'s?" he asked.

"I don't see why not," she says. "You are the one grading them, after all. Do they deserve B+'s?"

Anakin scrubbed his hands through his hair. "I don't know," he admitted. "I'm teaching Ethics. I don't want them to think because I don't agree with them I'm grading down, or because they strike me as being slightly inclined to go evil, I mark them off. There aren't exactly tests for their answers."

Zero attempted to jump onto Anakin's desk, misjudged, and wound up back on the floor. She licked one paw innocently. //I meant to do that.//

Anakin didn't speak Cat, but some moves were universal. "Of course you meant to do that," he said, eyes sparkling. "Jamie dropped off a ball earlier today, but I think it's too big for you to play fetch with."

Rory poked her head into the room. "They're right behind me," she hissed. "Like twenty feet down the hall. Mom's not here yet. Save me!"

"Too late," Anakin hissed, pasting on a polite smile as Richard entered the room. "Hello, sir," he said, standing up and giving them both a polite little bow.
