Anakin's desk was covered in electronics as he spun a tiny screwdriver between his fingers and consulted his schematics again.

It was easier to keep his mind off of unpleasant thoughts when his hands were busy.

The door was open.

Anakin's entire face lit up. "Luke! Come in."

Luke stepped into the office and perched nervously in a chair. "Hi. I'm going to New York on a field trip this afternoon and didn't want you to worry if you tried to find me or something," he babbled.

Anakin smiled. "And you thought to check," he said. "New York is an interesting city." He tilted his head to look at his son. "Have you been somewhere bigger than Mos Eisley?"

Luke shook his head. "Why?"

"Because New York is going to be really, really loud," Anakin warned. "You'll be fine, but it's a change." He smiled. "Don't wear any kind of hat that looks like the woman in the harbor, either."

Luke blinked. "...okay?" he said, clearly confused.

"The Statue of Liberty is in New York," Anakin explained with another smile. "It's a symbol in this country. She has pointy things sticking out of her head. Rory and I went up..." he trailed off. "She made me wear a hat that made me imitate the Statue of Liberty."

Luke giggled. "Any pictures?"

There was a pause.

"That's not important," Anakin declared, rummaging for a piece of paper and scrawling out places to see.

"Not that you need my advice for anything," he said, cheeks flushing a little as he stated the obvious, "but these were things I enjoyed when I was there."
