Office hours [all day]

After checking his office to make sure Ferus wasn't hiding in a closet or under his desk or something equally inane, Anakin flopped into his chair, consulted his notes briefly so he could remember which students he'd taught when, and waited for the first person to walk through the open into his office.

They couldn't have the coffee in his hands, by the way. Anakin needed that so he didn't tell everyone what he really thought.

Anakin stared at him. "All right then. So, Leda is indeed in my class."

"It's ethics," Anakin said. "We hold discussions about various ethical issues students might run into."

Anyone familiar with how expressive a canine face could be could tell he was concerned.

"How do you mean?" Anakin asked. "She listens, she participates. But I am not judging anyone on their answers, only the amount of thought they put into them."

Wolfboy tapped his pen on his notepad for a moment as he tried to figure out how to put it.

SHE'S HAD KIND OF A HARD TIME THE LAST YEAR OR SO. DOES SHE SEEM LIKE SHE'S HOLDING IT TOGETHER?

"Every student at this school has had a hard time," Anakin replied flatly. "Most of them don't come to class weeping. Leda's stopped drinking herself into unconsciousness in common rooms," because yes, Anakin listened to the radio, "and she answers my questions in a way that's on topic. That's what I look for."
