Office hours [all day]

After checking his office to make sure Ferus wasn't hiding in a closet or under his desk or something equally inane, Anakin flopped into his chair, consulted his notes briefly so he could remember which students he'd taught when, and waited for the first person to walk through the open into his office.

They couldn't have the coffee in his hands, by the way. Anakin needed that so he didn't tell everyone what he really thought.

[OOC: Up early so I don't forget. Off to Rennfest tomorrow, but should be back by midafternoon. SP=love!]

"I'll tell her in my own time," Anakin snapped. "She's met me and is smart enough to know that the propaganda about the Man With No Fear was poodoo."

"Are you really going to tell her?" Bail said skeptically.

"Yes," Anakin said. "But not now."

Bail would believe that when he saw it. Which he never would because...see username.

"I haven't decided yet if I want to allow my daughter to remain here," he said. "But I will before I leave."

"I'll be holding my breath on that decision," Anakin said, rolling his eyes. "My daughter has a mind of her own, and she likes it here."

"If Master Olin doesn't think she's safe here, what she wants won't matter," Bail said evenly. "I don't want her to be upset, but my daughter's safety is my first concern."

"So you know about Olin lurking in the bushes and Leia doesn't," Anakin replied. "Interesting."

"She'd ask too many questions if she knew someone was guarding her like that," Bail said. "Questions I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted her to ask."

Anakin smirked. "Oh, there are a great many questions she has already asked me."

Petty, petty Anakin.

"And I'm sure you've been completely honest with your answers," Bail shot back.

Bitch.

"When it wouldn't interfere with the timeline, yes," Anakin replied.

And Bail has a stupid beard. SO THERE.

Bail suspected Anakin had a very broad definition of "interfering with the timeline."

He rose to his feet, taking a step closer to Anakin's desk to inspect the holos of Rory and Juliet. "You've remarried, I see," he said. "It seems to be a good sign for your 'change' that this one survived childbirth."

Anakin's fist flew on its own volition, heading straight for Bail's face.

Bail reeled backwards, clutching his jaw. He knew he deserved that. "And another that you didn't try to choke me just now," he said, wincing as he spoke. He knew how Vader rolled. "I was there when Padmé died. I saw your handiwork. You can't expect me to leave my daughter here without really making sure you're not the same man."

"Well if you expecting me to be wandering the preserve, wailing about my poor choices and banging my head into trees, I'm sorry to disappoint," Anakin said, glaring. "I have a chance to know my daughter. Even I'm not stupid enough to pass on that opportunity."

"And I'm not stupid enough to risk her safety on your word," Bail said. "I'll talk to my daughter myself and wait for Master Olin's report before I decide if you've really changed." Though him still being alive right now was a very good sign.

"Then we're done here," Anakin decided, gesturing to the door.

At least he hadn't thrown him through it?

Another very good sign! The punch had been a bit of a setback, but even Bail had to admit he kind of deserved that one.

Bail nodded. "Good day, Master Skywalker," he said. "I'll give your regards to General Kenobi."

"Make sure to keep a holo of his expression," Anakin advised.
