Office hours [all day]

After checking his office to make sure Ferus wasn't hiding in a closet or under his desk or something equally inane, Anakin flopped into his chair, consulted his notes briefly so he could remember which students he'd taught when, and waited for the first person to walk through the open into his office.

They couldn't have the coffee in his hands, by the way. Anakin needed that so he didn't tell everyone what he really thought.

[OOC: Up early so I don't forget. Off to Rennfest tomorrow, but should be back by midafternoon. SP=love!]

"She's... mentioned them, to some degree, yes," Tseng agreed, nodding faintly. "I'm experiencing them first-hand myself, this weekend."

Two Tsengs was too much Tseng for any one island, entirely. He supposed, as the other Tseng had as well, that it was only fortunate that the Zack he'd been hearing about hadn't decided to invite his own along, as well.

"She's expressed some difficulty, regarding the way that different timelines converge on this island?"

Tseng's expression shifted, momentarily, into a wry smile.

"Yes, I am aware of that," he noted. "As I am also aware that there are a handful of different timelines that this island seems to have pulled people from my world out of. In spite of Rosalind's most outward reactions, I can only imagine that the effects have been... slightly unsettling."

And yet, he couldn't afford to pull her from this school just yet, either. It was a bit of a catch-22.

"Obviously," Tseng agreed, looking thoughtfully at the man before him. The ability to read emotions? That was intriguing all on its own. "Of course I wouldn't ask you to put Rosalind on the spot in front of the other students. Or, for that matter, at all. Her business is, ultimately, her own."

Which completely explained why he was here this weekend, checking in on her. It was different. He was the boss.

"Would you say that she's at least been getting along with the other students?"

He would get around to wondering what the hell a Turk was doing in an Ethics class in just a moment.

"Completely fair," decided Tseng. "So long as their discussions have the proper supervision. And I trust that you've been making certain that heated discussions remain discussions."

It was only a hunch, really, but Tseng imagined that this man was not the sort to put up with too much trouble in his classroom.

"If you don't mind, might I ask about the presentation of your class' subject matter? It sounds to me as though you're teaching a discussion class, composed mainly of lecture and theory. Would that be a correct assumption?"

"Best to let your students discover their ethical values on their own, as they pertain to their personal situation, as opposed to telling them what those values ought to be," Tseng noted. There was a very subtle hint of something that resembled approval in his voice, at least. "A fitting approach, when your students already believe that they know everything."

They were high schoolers. Of course they did.

"Well then, I hope for the sake of the students," and Rosalind in particular, of course, "that you continue to provoke a good many thoughts as the semester progresses."

Because, as was his experience with Rosalind, she tended to make those very ethical sorts of decisions... that landed her in very hot water time and again.

"I would appreciate that," Tseng replied, offering Anakin a small, businesslike nod of his head. "And I thank you for your time."
