Anakin was sitting at his desk with an icepack over his eyes; Ben had gotten in a good hit today and while it was easier to use the Force to heal it up, Anakin was using this as a reminder to himself that his grandson was starting to be seriously good with a lightsaber. Besides, it was hot as Tatooine outside--the ice felt good.

The door was open, though not for much longer if Drake didn't quit it with the ABBA concert down the hall.

Raven paused in the hallway to listen to the music. She actually found it quite enjoyable but not as good as Evanescence.

When she reached Anakin's office and saw him with the icepack, she shook her head and said, "I will not even ask if you wish me to heal that, because I know you will refuse."

Stupid stubborn Jedi.

He smiled. "I could heal it myself. This is to remind myself to duck the next time Ben comes at me. I'll fix it completely before I go home so Rory doesn't worry."

Raven still remained of the firm opinion that a post-it was a better reminder than pain, but she nodded in reluctant acceptance as she sat down. "I forgot if we were to start this week with what we discussed last week," she said. It'd been a rough weekend, that was her excuse.

"Well, it has been a strange few days," Anakin said. "Don't worry about it. We can try next week."

"The weekend was difficult," Raven said, nodding. "I spent much of it in the safe room. It felt almost cowardly but there were so many strong emotions around me that it took a great deal of effort to shield myself from them all, so it was easier to retreat there."

[sith_happened]

"That was a very wise decision," he said. "Even my shielding was strained for a time."

"They were mostly good feelings, at least," Raven mused. "A great deal of love and joy, though there was sadness and some fear as well. But even good feelings can be overwhelming when they are so strong and all around me."

Anakin nodded, smiling a little ruefully. "As a student, I felt like the island's emotional barometer."

[trigons_child]

"Did you receive any visitors this weekend?" Raven asked, then quickly added, "If it is not rude of me to ask."

[solo_sword]

Between leaving tomorrow and the whole of last weekend, there was no way Jaina was missing a visit this week. Of course, when she got to the door and saw him, it led to opening with a "...So how was your week?"

"Ben's got a wicked left hook," he said, moving the icepack, "just in case you were wondering."

[solo_sword]

Jaina couldn't help but smile. What, she was proud of the kid. "Go, Ben. You okay?"

[sith_happened]

"I'll live," he said with an answering smile. "I'll heal it up completely before I head home so Rory doesn't fuss. How are you?"

[solo_sword]

Jaina tilted her head, half-considering. "Better than expected. I head back tomorrow, which is a little... strange after this weekend."

[sith_happened]

Anakin winced. "Only a little?" he replied.

[solo_sword]

"That's me trying optimism," Jaina said. "So I heard radio. She stopped by?" She didn't think she needed to clarify her pronoun there.

He nodded. "And met Rory. And Luke and Leia."

So it was a tough weekend for him.

The door was still open when Drake slid through it. Singing, naturally.

Anakin looked up and sighed. "Are you lost?"

"Nah, I was bored, just thought I'd drop by for a visit," Drake said, dropping himself down in a chair without waiting for the invitation to sit that was surely to come.

Anakin blinked. "Okay," he said slowly. "Will you stop singing?"

"Not a fan of the magic of ABBA?" Drake said. "How about Lady Gaga?"

[sith_happened]

"The girl who forgets pants but remembers to put a lobster on her head? Irritatingly catchy songs," Anakin admitted. "I think she might be a witch."

[carpe_demon]

"Not a demon though," Drake said. "I checked just to make sure. Then I helped her make one of her videos."

[sith_happened]

"Which one?" Anakin asked, then coughed. "Not that I've seen them."
