Office hours [all day]

Anakin, as usual, was in his office.

Today he was sitting on his floor practicing his meditation skills.

It only looked like napping. Really.

The door was open and soft Alderaanian music was coming from his ridiculously tricked out stereo.

For the first time in weeks, Jaina wasn't exactly in the good mood she had been. This didn't mean she was in a bad mood, it was just that it felt like real life was finally really intruding on that- dare I narrate it- happy mental state,

Still, she was here, pausing at the door for a moment. "I recognize this," she realized.

"Thought you might," Anakin said, opening his eyes. "Come in."

"I hear they have these newfangled contraptions called beds now for napping," she noted, stepping inside.

"I'm meditating," he said. "I didn't get a chance before I left the house."

[solo_sword]

"Can't imagine why," she said dryly. "Should I go?"

[sith_happened]

"There was a dog trying to sit on my head," he said, standing up. "It wasn't conducive to a calm state of mind. I'll do this later. Come in."

[solo_sword]

As she took a seat, she realized she really needed clarification on that. "A dog was trying to sit on your head... while meditating?"

[sith_happened]

Anakin sighed. "It's Vladdie's new thing. Normally he just curled up in my hood."

[solo_sword]

"This is one of the more disturbing mental images I've had lately," Jaina realized.

Anakin smiled. "Glad to have helped. How's your week been?"

[solo_sword]

"Long and annoying," she said with a sigh. "Yourself? Besides dogs on your head?"

[sith_happened]

"It's hard to top a dog on my head," Anakin said, "so I'm not going to try. We're heading to Disneyland this weekend for the alumni thing. I'm not wearing ears."

Unless Juliet cried or something.

If there was an alumni thing, Jaina didn't know about it yet, and given that her confusion over this weekend's plans were part of the reason her week wasn't terrific, she was just gonna focus on, "But you have ears."

[sith_happened]

"It's some kind of childhood thing on this planet," Anakin said. "You wear an extra pair on the top of your head at an amusement park."

And doesn't that sound disturbing, Anakin.

[solo_sword]

"Aren't amusement parks loud enough without adding an extra pair of ears?" Jaina asked. "And... how?"

[sith_happened]

"On hats," Anakin said with a nod. "Strange, strange planet."

[solo_sword]

"I'm hearing this remembering that you have Christmas really wrong," she pointed out.

[sith_happened]

Anakin scowled. "No I don't."

[solo_sword]

"Oh, trust me you do," said Jaina. "Which luckily I found out before anyone came out dressed like Santa after dinner."

[sith_happened]

Anakin so hated being told he was wrong. "How am I wrong?" he retorted.

[solo_sword]

"Santa does not stalk children. Not that I didn't search the room for lstening devices anyway just in case," she began.

[sith_happened]

"That's not what the song says," Anakin replied stubbornly.

[solo_sword]

"And of course those are rigidly true. ...Tell me you didn't learn about Christmas through songs."

[sith_happened]

"And Christmas pageants," he added.

[solo_sword]

"I don't think they were helpful for you," Jaina decided.
