After his sparring session with Ben, Anakin unlocked the door to his office and began poking around online for ideas of how advanced Juliet should be at things.

Five minutes later, he was involved in a flamewar on a parenting website.

"Remove head from ass, then parent," he chanted aloud as he typed.

"~~Force help me if Raven tries to start one~~ I hope not," Anakin said with a wry smile. "I give terrible interviews to fans." He reached into his desk drawer and pulled out a handful of mini candy bars, then handed them over.

...he was married to Rory. Her junk food was contagious.

"You actually have candy on hand?" Jaina asked, actually laughing as she took one.

"I had three girls in here today. I was afraid someone was going to start crying. Of course I have chocolate."

For him. For coping with potentially crying girls.

"Hey. Just because you have girls in here doesn't mean you're going to have tears," she pointed out.

"One of them got married in Vegas, one of them is back from a war zone and the final one slept with Chuck Bass," Anakin pointed out.

"And thanks to radio I know who two of them are and am guessing Tahiri for the third," Jaina said. "I'd also like to point out that I was in Vegas and didn't get married, so I win over a teacher."

"I'd give you a cookie, but you already got candy," Anakin teased. "Also, I'd've had a heart attack and I think you like me more than that."

"You have got to get over that," she told him. "It'll happen when I'm ready and want to and you will just have to deal."

"After you're out of high school," Anakin declared. "And no, I don't care how old you are now. After you aren't living in a dorm with fourteen year olds, you can do whatever you want."

"So if I just moved to California, it'd be okay?" No, she wouldn't do it. Still.

Anakin looked like he'd bitten into a lemon.

"I wouldn't be thrilled."

"And if I said I spent a week living there for two months? Where does that put me on the scale?" She wasn't really trying to goad, just make a point.

"Still unmarried."

"Yeah. It's still my decision, thanks. You should be more worried about whether or not I'm happy than my marital status, really." Okay, that part was totally to goad.

Anakin reminded himself firmly that he'd been Jaina's age when he'd been married.

Which only served to show him what a complete idiot he'd been at twenty.

He sighed heavily. "I only want for you to be happy."

"Thank you. I don't suppose it'd be too much to ask to hear 'what was or wasn't a problem for me won't be the same for you because we're different people' huh?" She knew that one was a pipe dream.
