After his sparring session with Ben, Anakin unlocked the door to his office and began poking around online for ideas of how advanced Juliet should be at things.

Five minutes later, he was involved in a flamewar on a parenting website.

"Remove head from ass, then parent," he chanted aloud as he typed.

The door was open.

"I am not certain I can find where the middle ground is," Raven said. "Either I must have no feelings or they are too strong. The emotions I have tasted want to be powerful, not diluted."

"You have to ramp up," Anakin said. "You can't fly everywhere at lightspeed."

Probably not a great analogy, Anakin.

"Ramp up?" Raven repeated, not understanding. The flying and speed part she got.

[sith_happened]

"Start slow and move faster," Anakin replied. "An old saying from when they had to build speed to lift off."

"Ah, I understand now," Raven said. "I have never been on any kind of ship before."

[sith_happened]

"I'll have to see what I can do about that," he said with a smile. "Flying is one of life's great pleasures."

[trigons_child]

"My Soul-Self can fly," Raven said. "I experience what it feels, but my body remains where it is, so it is not entirely the same."

[sith_happened]

"No, not really," Anakin agreed. "I learned to fly almost as soon as I could walk. In a ship, not with wings."

[trigons_child]

"My Soul-Self first fully manifested when I was ten years old," Raven said, not at all contemplating "Anakin's Flygirls" as a name for that non-existent fan club. "When I first encountered my father. But it took me some time to learn to control it. Often when I meditate now I allow it to fly free, for I find it relaxing. But I have read of space-faring civilizations in my studies, though I have never visited one and traveled that way. The shuttle to Fandom was the first time I had flown in a vehicle, but it did not leave the atmosphere."

Anakin nodded. "My grandson has a shuttle hidden around here somewhere, and I've managed to collect a couple of other space vehicles in my time here. I might organize a field trip."

[trigons_child]

"I think I would be very interested in that," Raven said.

[sith_happened]

"Then I'll see what I can set up and tell you about it next week," Anakin said. "Now let's see what we can do about setting you some mental blocking exercises."

[trigons_child]

"Yes, thank you," Raven said, to both the trip and the lessons. "I will do what I must to deny my anger. I do not wish to harm anyone. Ever."
