Skywalker Apartment [Thursday evening]

Anakin was sitting in the middle of the living room floor trying to untangle Vladdie from a string of blinking white lights.

"I leave you alone for three seconds," he muttered, not even turning around to point straight at Bertie. "Back to the closet," he scolded. "Eating the stockings is a terrible, terrible idea."

Ah, Christmas decorating.

Rory mumbled something that was probably "I love you," against his ear, stretching under him.

"You weren't supposed to be able to move," Anakin said, grinning and shifting just slightly so he didn't have to worry about squishing her. "Maybe next time."

"That's the extent of my movement," she mumbled.

Anakin wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek. "You know my favorite thing about this apartment?" he murmured.

"Mmm?" she wondered, closing her eyes.

"We don't have to move," he whispered, closing his eyes.

"That is the best thing ever," she said happily, sighing.

"We can take a nap now," he said, nuzzling her neck, "and finish the tree later."

Anakin laid there and watched her sleep for a while before finally drifting off himself.
