Skywalker Apartment [Saturday evening]

Anakin cheated and used the Force to hold up his stack of packages as he opened the door to the apartment.

It wouldn't do to have the birthday cake fall, after all.

"Rory?" he called softly as he came in. "Are you awake?"

Rory laughed, waving at the delivery guy. "I'm not just picky, I'm knocked up," she told him, in case he thought she was weird.

The delivery guy laughed until a look from Anakin sent him skittering away. "Pasta, spinach puffs and pad thai," Anakin said, laughing as he juggled all of the containers. "Dinner of champions."

"You're so thoughtful," she said, smiling softly.

"It's your birthday," Anakin said, setting up a picnic on the floor. "I want you to be happy."

"And we didn't even have to go out," she said happily.

"I thought you might prefer that," he said shyly, stretching his legs out as he sat down.

She shifted onto the floor beside him. "I'm not really feeling the going-out thing, no," she agreed.

He passed her a plate and kissed her cheek. "You're beautiful."

"You're biased," she said, grinning.

"Am I not supposed to be?" he asked, filling up his plate.

"No, I'm just saying," she said, leaning over to kiss his cheek.

Anakin snuggled a little closer. "So how was your day?"

"Boring. Mom called, and I talked to her and Luke and Bucky," she told him.

"And then you watched a documentary on humpback whales, which remind you of Kirk," Anakin said, taking a bite from his pasta. "Oh, this is good," he said, holding out a forkful for her.

"Mom started it," she told him, leaning forward to take the bite.

"Of course she did," Anakin said, laughing.

"That is really good," she commended, chewing slowly.

"I pick excellent delivery," Anakin said. "I thought we needed something other than the normal food with sticks."

"We do get food with sticks a lot," she said thoughtfully.

"I think they recognize my voice when I call," Anakin admitted. "Do you like the Thai?"

"I do. It doesn't go on the food list yet," she promised.

He smiled. "I tried not to get anything that might be too curry-y."

He frowned. "That's not a word, is it?"
