Office hours [all day]

Anakin was in a surprisingly good mood as he wandered around his office.

Once Rory had convinced him to see the humor of the situation, it was ridiculous to think that she'd ever cheat on him. Especially with Jess. Not that it meant he was going to like the kid.

Ever.

The multiple dunkings into the pond last night--and getting shot by John Winchester--well...that might take a little longer to get over.

And the wedding with John and Jaina? Hmmm.

Anakin began writing up a list of people to talk to--smiting totally optional, look how reasonable he was!--and made sure the door was propped open.

John didn't breath a sigh of relief when he saw Anakin in his office, but it did make everything much less complicated.

Well aside from this impending conversation.

He cleared his throat as he tried to figure out what to say.

Anakin looked up from his paper, eyes twinkling slightly. "You still can't have the diamond mine," he deadpanned.

"Wouldn't want it anyway. My family's cursed enough," John deadpanned back.

"That was...quite a weekend," Anakin said, "but any scars left seem to be entirely psychological."

"Glad to hear it," John said, stepping inside. "I think Zoe was going to make me take over your Ethics class if I had killed you."

"Perish the thought," Anakin said, grinning. "And all of the paperwork you'd probably have to fill out..."

"That would be the worst part," John said. "One good thing about hunting -- all the paperwork is fake."

"Jedi were big on filing reports," Anakin said, rolling his eyes. "It was hardly my favorite thing."

"I expect diamond mines would have some too."

Anakin chuckled. "If I ever own one, I'll let you know. Wonder if the students will come out from their rooms this week."

"It's probably a good thing there's no classes. Gives them time to repress."

"A very important part of life here," Anakin said, nodding. "Caritas'll probably be incredibly busy as well."

"That would be an interesting dilemna, I suspect," John said with a faint smile. "Hide under the bed sober or venture out in public to get to the alcohol."

Jaina could have emoed over the weekend. She wasn't. She was, however, knocking on the door to Anakin's office to make sure no one got killed, now that killing was bad again or whatever.

Anakin looked up. "You can't have the diamond mine, either," he teased.

"That's okay, I'm getting my own," she said. "Sounds like you had an interesting night."

"It's been a while since I'd been in fistfights," Anakin said, looking amused, "let alone two that ended up in the pond. And I seem to have recovered by being shot by John Winchester. Should make for an interesting staff meeting."

He raised an eyebrow. "You're not here to tell me you're engaged, right?"

"I've nearly been married twice in three months. That's enough for me for a while, thanks," she assured him. "No one's getting killed for this weekend, right?"

"It depends if Jess still thinks he's fathered my child," Anakin replied.

Jaina just shook her head. "This weekend was messed up." And yet she was in the best mood she could be after it.

"I didn't know you even knew how to ride a horse," Anakin commented, grinning at her.

"I don't. Karal's going to think I've been lying to him all this time," she said, taking a seat. It was nice to not have to worry about sitting a certain way anymore. "And I did it in a wedding dress."

"Impressive," Anakin said. "Most impressive. John threatened to make me homeless on the streets of Scranton."

"Nice," she said, but added, "He feels really bad about the way he was acting, by the way."

Anakin laughed. "I'm sure he does. We were all ridiculous. I was worried about still having a job but since Zoe's husband shot me, I think it evens out."
