Skywalker Apartment [Georgetown, Monday afternoon]

Anakin was sprawled out on the floor of the apartment's living room, surrounded by pieces of what used to be the garbage disposal.

That would teach something electronic to fail in his new house. Maybe he'd keep out a couple pieces as a warning to the others.

80s pop music was playing (shhh, somewhere along the way his wife's taste had rubbed off on him), but not so loudly that he wouldn't be able to hear the phone.

[OOC: Open for phone calls & visitors! Still no baby. Am bored like a bored thing.]

Mostly out of boredom- this happened when you'd spend a week picking up dead things that could kill you- Jaina made a call, expecting to just leave a message to say she still wasn't dead yet.

He reached for the phone. "Skywalker."

[solo_sword]

"You answered," Jaina said, sounding surprised without knowing why.

[sith_happened]

"Jaina!" Anakin grinned. "I have lots of time on my hands this summer."

[solo_sword]

"Which probably means you've built some sort of ship by now, right?" she guessed.

[sith_happened]

"There's not enough space in the apartment and Rory's car is taking up the only parking space," Anakin replied. "But there are a lot more toys for Ben now."

Jaina had to smile at that. "If you want to send them on over, I can take them with me this weekend."

[sith_happened]

"Heading back again?" he asked. "Mission or vacation?"

[solo_sword]

"A little of both, I guess?" she said. "Things have been a bit messy. I've sort of been going back and forth between here and there to try and help out."

[sith_happened]

Anakin made an unhappy face. "How messy?"

[solo_sword]

"Genetically engineered vornskr offshoots hunting Jedi down," Jaina answered. "They got two of us so far. Maybe three. We're still not sure."

[sith_happened]

He hissed. "That messy," he said, shaking his head. "You'll be careful."

It wasn't a question.

[solo_sword]

"Yes. We're staying at the Jedi base, they have no idea where it is to come after us. And I've been saying this, but I wouldn't be bringing John into it if I thought it was that bad. It's reconnaissance and corpse collection so far," she explained.

[sith_happened]

"Sheppard is going back with you?"

Anakin was quite proud of himself for not making any kind of nasty remark.

[solo_sword]

"He is," Jaina said. "When I told him what was happening, he wanted to help, so he's helping."

[sith_happened]

"With corpse collecting?"

Anakin wouldn't admit it to anyone, but his estimation of John inched up a notch.

[solo_sword]

"And babysitting," Jaina added.

[sith_happened]

There was a slight pause. "Who is he babysitting?"

[solo_sword]

"Ben. Who else?" she wondered.

[sith_happened]

Anakin tried to ignore the sudden pang of jealousy. "He's gotten to meet Ben?"

[solo_sword]

"Well, yeah," Jaina said, not thinking anything of it. "He's there."

[sith_happened]

A slightly more awkward pause. "Is he getting big?"

Anakin had a soft spot for babies. Shhhh.

[solo_sword]

"He is," she admitted. "It's weird, but with the way time passes he's always so much bigger than I expected him to be since the last time I saw him. I do have holos."

[sith_happened]

"I'd love to see them," Anakin said, sounding almost shy, "but I know you're busy."

[solo_sword]

"I can send some along," she said, smiling.
