Skywalker Apartment [Georgetown, Monday afternoon]

Anakin was sprawled out on the floor of the apartment's living room, surrounded by pieces of what used to be the garbage disposal.

That would teach something electronic to fail in his new house. Maybe he'd keep out a couple pieces as a warning to the others.

80s pop music was playing (shhh, somewhere along the way his wife's taste had rubbed off on him), but not so loudly that he wouldn't be able to hear the phone.

Rory struggled with her keys for a moment before managing to get the door open, her arms laden with books and a cup of coffee.

She paused, staring at the display.

"...did you break it?"

Anakin looked up at her. "Nope. It made a sound like a yodeling Wookiee and then died this morning."

He grinned. "Do we not have enough books here?" he teased.

"I want to read ahead before classes start," she replied, eyeing the little pieces of a mechanical something on the floor. "What did that use to be?"

"Garbage disposal," he replied casually, getting up to kiss Rory hello. "I'll get it back together. Are you trying to read the entire library?"

"It's a whole new selection," she pointed out, kissing him. "Please don't make it do something weird. We don't want to lose that security deposit."

"I'm just grateful I haven't lost you forever to the Library of Congress," he said, nudging her nose with his. "And I don't want it to do anything weird. I just want it to work."

"Good. And no no, you won't lose me there. I'm taking you with me next time I go," she assured him, grinning.

"It's just so I can carry more books," he decided.

"You know me so well," she replied, smiling at him.

"I certainly hope so," he said, kissing her again. "Hello."

"Hi," she said, going onto her toes to kiss him.

"I was almost started writing sad, lonely poetry while you were gone," he made up, wrapping his hands around her waist, "but instead I wandered down and found strawberry pie."

His eyes twinkled. "I even saved you some."

"You are so kind," she replied, smiling up at him. "I so married right."

Mostly out of boredom- this happened when you'd spend a week picking up dead things that could kill you- Jaina made a call, expecting to just leave a message to say she still wasn't dead yet.

He reached for the phone. "Skywalker."

"You answered," Jaina said, sounding surprised without knowing why.

[sith_happened]

"Jaina!" Anakin grinned. "I have lots of time on my hands this summer."

"Which probably means you've built some sort of ship by now, right?" she guessed.

"There's not enough space in the apartment and Rory's car is taking up the only parking space," Anakin replied. "But there are a lot more toys for Ben now."

Jaina had to smile at that. "If you want to send them on over, I can take them with me this weekend."

"Heading back again?" he asked. "Mission or vacation?"

[solo_sword]

"A little of both, I guess?" she said. "Things have been a bit messy. I've sort of been going back and forth between here and there to try and help out."

Anakin made an unhappy face. "How messy?"

[solo_sword]

"Genetically engineered vornskr offshoots hunting Jedi down," Jaina answered. "They got two of us so far. Maybe three. We're still not sure."

He hissed. "That messy," he said, shaking his head. "You'll be careful."

It wasn't a question.
