Anakin's door was wide open as bright, cheerful music spilled out into the hallway.

He wandered around his office, adding a new picture frame to his desk and grinning to himself every time he looked over at it.

If you knew him at all, you might fear for his sanity.

He had his reasons.

That many happy icons together creep anyone else out?

Luke had felt his father's presence the moment he stepped foot onto the island, so as soon as he was up and dressed, he bolted for the office.

"I have something to tell you!" he said, bursting into the room.

Luke's words were drowned out by Anakin saying the exact same thing.

Anakin paused, then smiled. "May I go first?"

Lil bit! But OMGYAY!

Ferris was doing the rounds this morning, trying to see what exactly he was dealing with when it came to the faculty at this school. He rapped a playful knock on the door and waited for a response. His thoughts were readable, but considering how many things he was thinking about in one split second, it probably read as jumbled nonsense at first. He was definitely thinking about hot dogs and tuna fish though.

After her classes, Jaina headed down to the office, complete with hair and full sight and greeted him with, "You're back."

Luke bit his lip as he walked into the office and made himself comfortable on one of the chairs. "You seem...creepily happy," he commented.

"It's open," Anakin commented, raising an eyebrow, "though you're a long way from the cafeteria if you're hungry."

"And you have hair," Anakin replied, grinning.

Anakin smiled again. "Rory said yes," he said.

"...to what?" Luke asked cautiously.

"To marrying me," Anakin said, beaming.

Luke's jaw dropped.

"Are you okay with this?" Anakin asked.

"Huh? Me? Oh, I'm totally fine!" Luke said breezily, giving Anakin a bright smile. "Congratulations! When did this happen?"

"While we were in Paris," Anakin said, watching Luke carefully. "She's not a replacement for your mother, you know," he continued quietly.

"Of course not," Luke said with that same smile on his face. "She's younger than me, for one. And one of my best friends, for another."

Another smile. "So when the big day?"

He didn't exactly trust himself to say "wedding."

"Years from now," Anakin said. "We're waiting until she graduates."

And suddenly it became easier to breathe again. Years from now meant Luke didn't have to deal with idea right now.

Not that he had a problem with it, of course. He was fine.

"Oh," he said. "That kind of reminds me of what I wanted to tell you about. There's a student who just arrived who looks just like my mother did. She's taking your class."

Anakin's jaw dropped.

"She confused Artoo," Luke said, "so I thought you should know before you walked into class tomorrow."

He gave his father a tight smile. "So you didn't freak out at her or something."

So helpful, that Luke.

"I wouldn't have freaked out at her," Anakin said icily. "I have a little more control over myself than that, thank you."

Years of evidence to the contrary should be ignored, of course.
