Anakin's door was wide open as bright, cheerful music spilled out into the hallway.

He wandered around his office, adding a new picture frame to his desk and grinning to himself every time he looked over at it.

If you knew him at all, you might fear for his sanity.

He had his reasons.

Anakin gave her a sad smile. "I don't think she'll come."

"You said years, right? A lot can happen in years," she pointed out.

"So she didn't inherit my ability to hold a grudge beyond all good sense?" Anakin asked.

"Maybe not all of it," said Jaina, and paused briefly. "I went home for a few days. She knows you're here."

"And she let you come back," Anakin said with a very small smile. "That only took, what? Twenty years or so?"

"First, she doesn't get a choice in letting me come back or not, and second, my little brother just turned sixteen so I think it's been less time than that," she said. "She knew before she talked to me about it, but she handled hearing things pretty well."

"I'm still having Luke call my Leia," Anakin said, "because I don't think she'd pick up a comm from me."

"Probably a good idea," she said. "The news itself might be easier to take from him." And if it required a bitch session, they'd have each other right there.

"Exactly," Anakin said with a nod. "So how was home?"

"Good," she said. "Much calmer than I expected, just me, Mom and Dad and no invasions. And I passed the eye exam. All healed."

"Congratulations," Anakin said, looking very pleased for her. "Up for sparring with me soon?"

"I've been waiting for you to get back," she admitted with a smile.

"Other than class on Thursday and sparring with Luke, I'm made of time," Anakin told her.

"My only classes are today, so I'm free whenever. Friday?"

"Perfect," Anakin said, grinning.

"I will be there and ready," she promised. And the Luke mention had reminded her of something she'd been dying to tell someone since she got back, and couldn't till now because he was the only one that knew the full story. "Oh, and by the way, I should really be congratulating you on something else, too."

"Oh yes?" Anakin replied, looking interested.

"You're going to get to be an AU grandfather again," she said, smiling. And then she added, "Nothing to do with me, don't even think about freaking out there."

Anakin thought about it for a second. "Luke?" he guessed, grinning.

Jaina nodded. "They apparently knew when I was home in... November, but didn't say anything until the last time I went back. I wasn't able to congratulate them in person, though."

Anakin kept smiling. "If I get them something, can you pretend it's from you so Mara doesn't set it on fire?"

She almost protested that she would, but he was probably right there, actually. And that was without added hormones. "Of course," she told him.

"There were old Force toys in the Temple nursery," Anakin said. "I'll see if I can replicate a few of them."
