Office hours [all day]

After a very strange encounter with Qui-Gon last night, and an even more bizarre radio last night, Anakin decided to hold his office hours a day early.

Curiosity could be a terrible thing.

He sat cross-legged on the floor in meditation, the door cracked open.

River knocked lightly on the door. After meeting Kerrigan yesterday, she wasn't sure this was a good thing. Perhaps she should have avoided the reunion altogether. Trust Fandom to create confusion out of it.

She hadn't needed to keep people out of her mind very often after leaving Fandom, but the instinct to protect herself had grown stronger, and after 20 years of practise she could keep her mind in control when she needed.

"Thank you," she said, entering the office. Couldn't imagine what being back would be like.

Not enough has changed here, I'd imagine, Anakin said with a mental chuckle.

"The lack of change is strange, yes." She smiled a little. Good to see you again.

And you, he replied. "How have you been keeping busy?"

Jaina peeked in and was very happy to see that she knew someone who was at the age they were supposed to be.

Kinda.

She knocked on the doorframe.

"Someone else who didn't change," Anakin said, sounding a little relieved.

"Luke and Gavin seem to be from around my place in the timeline now. I'm somehow more confused," she said, leaning in the doorway. "How are you doing?"

"Much better than the last time I mumbled incoherently at you," Anakin said, cheeks turning a little pink.

"I'd like to never have to see that again, by the way," she warned. Because she might have been really freaked out by it, yes.

Bill was still spending his morning looking for teachers. He knocked politely at Master Skywalker's door.

"Hello, Billy," Anakin said, not opening his eyes.

"Hello Master Skywalker. I don't mean to disturb you, but for me it's been about 20 years and I wanted to say hello."

"I've been getting that a lot today," Anakin said dryly. "What has been keeping you busy?"

"After college and graduate school, it was mostly family. Which, for a while included taking care of my father."

John pushed at the door and leaned against the frame. "It's good to see some things never change," he said with a smirk.

Though he did wonder why Rory had never made the old man cut off that mullet.

"That's because time has moved for me like it has for you, idiot," Anakin said, rolling his eyes.

"Well that sucks," John said, disappointed. "I'm guessing you're still at the part where you hate me."

"I saw you come out of my granddaughter's bedroom wearing a towel, so...yes."

"That was a good weekend," John said, fond smile sneaking across his face at the memory. "So I guess there's no need for me to ask how you've been."

"Hello, Fa--," Luke began, then stopped. "You didn't age up either," he said, slightly disappointed.

"It's comforting to know that you'll still be talking to me," Anakin replied, smiling up at him. "Less so that I'm still in the same office then..."

Anakin bit back a small groan. "I'm still teaching ethics?" he whined.
