Ye olde shuttle parking [early afternoon]

After a phone call earlier, Anakin was running just a bit behind in meeting Rory for their lesson.

He took the stairs two at a time, looking around anxiously to see if she'd beaten him there.

Rory was leaning against the shuttle with her eyes shut because she'd forgotten her sunglasses.

She didn't even hear him coming.

Anakin's lips quirked up into a lopsided smile as he watched her.

"I'm not cutting into nap time, am I?" he teased quietly.

"I can do a lot of things, but successfully sleep standing up is not one of them," Rory said, cracking an eyelid. "Hi."

"Hi," Anakin replied, still smiling. "If you want to work on that instead today, I'll totally understand. It's a very important life skill."

Rory stuck her tongue out at him.

"You do that around the wrong person and they'll take it away," Anakin said mock-threateningly. "You should've seen Padmé trying to teach Jar-Jar proper table manners. I thought Obi-Wan's eyes were going to roll completely out of his head."

Rory raised an eyebrow. "Not a successful endeavor, then?"

Anakin let out a sound that came dangerously close to being a giggle. "No. Jar-Jar tried to grab a roll by using his tongue and Padmé gave him such a look..."

Rory's smile got a bit more forced. "I bet it was something to see."

Anakin noticed the shift immediately. "It was okay," he said quietly. "Ready to go?"

"Sure," Rory said, smiling a little. "Where are we going?"

"I found another nebulae," Anakin said, eyes lighting up. "It's called Hubble 5."

See? Nothing romantic in the name. He was trying, dammit.

"Hubble is a fun word," Rory said.

"It is," Anakin agreed, smiling as he punch the code in to lower the ramp. "It's a...scientist on your world, right?"

Rory nodded. "I don't know a lot about him, but names like that make me happy that Gilmore is relatively tame."

"Lorelai Hubble would be hard to get used to," Anakin said with a nod.

"Rory Hubble's worse," she decided, nodding as well.

"Very true," Anakin said, "but it's not like Rory doesn't go with any other last name. Just, um, not Hubble."

Rory knew she shouldn't say it.

She knew it was a dangerous thing to say.

"Rory Skywalker has a nice ring to it."

She said it anyway.

Anakin stared.

"If Luke ever wanted to name his daughter after me," Rory added quickly.

More staring.

"Oh, right. Of course."

"It seems like something he'd do. He and Tori would have cute kids."

Rory thought that just filling up the silence with words might make what she said go away.

Eyes shouldn't go that wide. It's not healthy. "Luke?!"

Rory didn't want to admit that she had kind of broken her own brain with that.
