Super Lumpy Bed, Fandom Clinic [Sunday morning]

Anakin woke up with a groan. It took him a good few minutes to even open his eyes, and he regretting it almost immediately once he did: the lights gave him a pounding migraine. Rory called for the clinic staff, and they gave him a brief rundown of what had happened (he was suddenly and intensely grateful for not being treated with a Fisher Price plastic doctor's kit) and how he'd once again been used like a battery to abet the Toymaker's schemes.

Jedi didn't hate but Anakin was prepared to make an exception for this guy.

When Rory and the kids had gotten enough hugs and reassurances that he'd be okay and had headed back home to leave him to rest up, he grabbed his comm and sent an island-wide email:

Not as dead as rumored. Classes will proceed as normal next week. -A. Skywalker

Well, it got a faintly amused snort out of Kanan, at least.

... He'd needed it. 'Jedi battery' was a new and exciting horror show that was going to feed his nightmares for months to come.

"Fair enough. I'll leave you to it, then?"

"Napping on doctor's orders," Anakin said. "Livin' the dream."

"Could be worse," Kanan mused. "They could be stuffing you full of enough coffee to ruin it for you for life."

That was Kanan's last clinic stay. He was all set for coffee forever now, thanks.

Anakin looked horrified. "They've ruined coffee for you? Rory would throw you a funeral of some kind for that kind of loss."

"I cope by telling myself that caf is entirely different."

Insisting on it. Up and down.

Stubborn denial was a wonderful thing.

"It's not that different."

Anakin, don't be like that.

"Let me have my small delusions, Skywalker."

Because otherwise all he had left was tea, and that was just cruel.
