Anakin's office [early Monday morning, before classes]

Anakin, who had been running on the power of coffee for the last week, hadn't stopped watching the Games since the last shipment of bread had been delivered. There had been interviews with the survivors' families: Anakin was looking only to see Katniss's sister and to check that she still had all of her fingers attached.

He rubbed at his eyes blearily as the games began again, steeling himself for another day of devious, horrifying death. They were down to eight. Things were going to get even uglier.

[OOC: Up suuuuper early for the Hunger Games crew. NFB for character death.]

Zoe had made sure to go home last night, needing to put some distance between herself and what was happening in order to calm down. She brought coffee with her this morning, for anyone who needed an extra jolt. It was difficult to imagine anyone falling asleep watching the Games, but she figured a little extra caffeine couldn't hurt.

Ghanima passed the basket of baked goods to Zoe. "I doubt many of us will eat," she said, "but hopefully we can all manage something."

Zoe gave Ghanima a grateful smile as she took something to eat. "A little something to keep us going?" she suggested. "This is more difficult to watch than I thought it would be."

"My homeworld is harsh, brutal," Ghanima replied, glancing towards the screen. "Many here would call the Fremen barbarians."

But this? This is simply subhuman. I do not understand how any sentient creature could support this."

"We have some barbarian-like people at home too, and I think they'd be rather amazed at being outdone," Zoe said. "I could almost understand if it was adults. But to use children...this is a lot like what madness looks like, I imagine."
