After spending a few hours thumping Ben around the gym in the morning, Anakin headed to his office with his bad feeling still hanging over him like a cloak.

He pretended to keep busy, but it was difficult to pay attention to anything when his eyes kept tracking towards his door, hoping to see Leia coming through it.

He was prepared to repress like a mofo talk to anyone else who needed his attention in the meantime, though.

Raven hated repressing Jedis. So not fair to an empath.

Not that she realized anything was wrong when she showed up at Anakin's door that morning, as usual. "Good morning, Professor Skywalker," she greeted him.

"Good morning," Anakin replied with a smile. "How was your week?"

"It was good," Raven said, taking her seat. "Though I have learned I should study movies that I might watch more carefully before actually viewing them."

"Oh?" Anakin replied, arching up one eyebrow. "What did you accidentally view?"

"I was searching for more information about the Seven Deadly Sins," Raven explained, frowning a little. "I came across a movie about them that was available to watch on the web. It was called meta for Se7en."

"Not a documentary, I take it," Anakin said.

"I did not look too closely and thought perhaps it was, but it was not," Raven said, shaking her head. "It was about detectives searching for a man who was committing crimes based on the deadly sins. He killed people in very horrific ways."

Anakin made a face. "Not a movie to watch with Rory on date night," he noted. "Are you all right?"

Well, the one time Raven had watched a horror movie with her boyfriend had ended very nicely, but she wasn't about to share that bit of TMI with Anakin.

"I had a restless night after seeing the movie," Raven admitted. "But I am all right. I know what the sins are, of course, especially since we covered them in your class, but I had never thought they could be used against people in such cruel ways. I find it distressing to think that my brothers are likely capable of that kind of cruelty." Unspoken was and herself.

"I think they probably revel in that kind of cruelty," Anakin said, "based on the first impression they left me with."

"Why do they not resist my father's influence as I do?" Raven said. Not that she always succeeded, but at least she tried, and she still believed there was goodness in everyone. Well, almost everyone.

"They probably don't see the point in it," Anakin guessed.

"Their desire for power is greater than any compassion," Raven murmured in agreement. "But they are half-human, like myself. They must have souls. I should be thinking of ways to save them."

It was late morning when Katniss tapped lightly on his door, his hair freshly wet from her post-run shower. She'd be going down to the gym to do her weight training after this, but it seemed rude to show up sweaty. "Good morning," she said softly.

"Good morning," Anakin replied, glancing up from the paper he hadn't really been reading. "Come in."

"Do you have a moment?" she asked quietly, shutting the door behind her. "There's a favor I need to ask."

"Of course," Anakin said immediately. "How can I help?"

"They announced the theme for the Quarter Quell last week," she said, playing with her fingers a little out of nervousness. She really, really hoped this worked. "It's why I wasn't in class -- I had to go home for the announcement."

"Is your sister still safe?" Anakin asked, looking worried.

"Prim is fine for now," she said with a nod. She fidgeted a bit more. "The tributes for the seventy-fifth Quarter Quell will be chosen from each district's pool of living victors." She glanced up, meeting his eyes. "I'm Twelve's only living female."

Anakin felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up, and he muttered a particularly foul Huttese curse under his breath.

"So Snow fixed it?" he guessed, keeping his voice as even as he could.

"I don't know," she admitted quietly. "The slips for the Quell were written out seventy-five years ago. But it's far too convenient for my taste. I was expecting assassination. This is easier for him."

"It's assassination as entertainment and message," Anakin said, some of the loathing he felt for the man leaking into his words. "Very tidy. When do you have to go back?"

"May," she said with a small nod. "Just after my birthday. I've already started training for it."
