Office hours [all day]

After a quick trip to the Isle of Ikea to replace all of the broken glassware, Anakin's office was back to its normal state of cleanliness.

He turned on some soothing music from Ithor and waited to see how many students came in to see what he'd told their guardians.

The door was open.

Jaina hadn't been at the fight because she really didn't want to encourage that kind of thing, but at the same time, she was massively curious. So when she leaning the doorway today, she began with, "So who won?"

Anakin grinned. "I did. How was your weekend?"

[solo_sword]

That genuinely surprised her, sorry, and her first thought was that Luke must have thrown the fight. "Congratulations," she said, immediately glad for the subject change. "It was good. I'm sorry it's over and glad it did. Which is probably about normal for these weekends."

"Who did you see?" Anakin asked. "I haven't had a chance to catch up on radio broadcasts."

[solo_sword]

"Zekk," said answered. "First time we saw each other since Coruscant. It was interesting, to say the least." She was maybe a little worried he'd be worried she'd be dropping plurals all over the place.

"Did you speak aloud?" Anakin replied, trying to seem casual.

[solo_sword]

"Most of the time," Jaina said, totally casually. "It's handy when you don't want the squirrels to overhear you."

"I find yelling at them is effective too," Anakin said with a tiny smile.

[solo_sword]

"I like when they ignore me on radio, though, and I'd like it to stay that way," she said. "Don't worry, the connection's fading."

[sith_happened]

"I prefer it when you use 'I'," Anakin acknowledged.

[solo_sword]

"I use I. But sometimes 'we' is easier than saying 'Zekk and I' all the time," she said, kind of just to be a brat.

[sith_happened]

"Now you're just trying to make me cranky," Anakin decided.

[solo_sword]

"Like that's hard," Jaina pointed out. "So how was the weekend otherwise? Busy?"

[sith_happened]

"Extremely," Anakin grumbled. "I think I need to put one of those take-a-number things by my door."

[solo_sword]

Jaina tapped her chin. "Weren't you just saying the other week how people weren't busting down your door to talk...?"

[sith_happened]

"Apparently that 'I'm so lonely' email I sent out got to more people than I thought," he said with a quick grin.

[solo_sword]

"Should have known you'd have to resort to that," she teased. "This is why I like my small class, and my one day of office hours."

[sith_happened]

"Let's see," Anakin said, leaning back in his chair, "I got a mother who wants me to train her daughter to protect herself--with the tiniest problem that they refer to their religion as 'embracing the Darkness', an angry step-father, a boy obsessed with my hair, a boss who had already heard of multiple versions of himself, a wolf that used index cards to communicate, a student worried that I'd met her sister, a drunk, and a talking crab. And that was just day one."

"All of that was punishment for something," Jaina decided.

[sith_happened]

"I've been so good lately too," Anakin complained.
