sith_happened: (Anakin: cranky)

Office hours [all day]

Anakin had an absolutely enormous cup of coffee in front of him, as well as a bottle of migraine pills.

He was holding out hope that since yesterday had been so busy, he had already spoken with (and threatened, and hit) everyone he was going to see this weekend.

But the Force had never been that kind to him.

The door was open.

The Force was not about to start being that kind, either, no.

"I ought to ask what on earth you were thinking," announced the woman standing in the doorway without preamble.

"Constance Aluko," she answered. "Kennedy's, ah, guardian of sorts."

She enjoyed the irony of that choice of words.

"You know, it's very hard to get a point across with her when she counters my arguments by saying you made her your TA."

"Take her calling a little more seriously," Constance answered. "She seems to think it's all some great big game or adventure."

"Thus my not actually asking you outright what you were thinking, yes."

It was a sad, sad day when a member of the Watchers' Council lost the battle for humorless, but there it was.

"That, in my long experience, has never once stopped her from interpreting anything for her own purposes," Constance confided. "To be honest, I'd encourage you to be a bit harder on her."

Constance almost laughed. "She'd argue with you nonstop if she heard you say that, but you're right; that's quite the accomplishment. The truth is, I'm a little concerned about her eagerness to fight; when she first found out about the nature of this school, she asked if it meant she would get to, and I quote, 'kill things.' Which, I note, she's scarpered off to go do on multiple occasions. I can't argue with her keeping her skills sharp, but..."

Everybody in the Council knew what had happened with Faith.

"I worry that her aggressive tendencies are in danger of getting out of hand. And as her ethics teacher, I'd hoped you might have more immediate observations as to that."

That got Constance to raise an eyebrow. "I started training Kennedy on weapons use when she was half that age, though not--" she felt the need to disclaim this-- "without sufficient lecturing on the proper time and place for such things. I understand there are vast cultural differences between many of the students and faculty here, and your perspective might be useful."

Constance would never admit she breathed a sigh of relief at that; she had a certain stake in the sort of impression her Potential gave other people.

"It's often a fine line between one and the other, but it's good to know she hasn't crossed it yet; thank you," she told him. "Though if she seems to be in danger of stepping over it... well, I'd like to know."

"Spoken like someone with far too much experience in such matters," Constance remarked, arching an eyebrow.
