Office hours [all day]

Anakin was in his office earlier than usual (Ben had called to cancel today's lesson, which Anakin found a little odd), and so he was using that extra time to catch up on his meditating.

...It only looked a little like napping sitting up as he sat in the center of his rug and concentrated on his breathing.

The door was open.

Raven peeked into Anakin's office. Everyone else was back to normal, so if it was him she'd met in the park, there was no reason to think he wouldn't be himself as well. And she wasn't feeling an excess of emo radiating from the office, so that was a good sign!

Anakin opened his eyes. "Hello, Raven," he said with a smile. "Come in."

"How are you this morning, Professor Skywalker?" Raven asked, stepping into the office.

[sith_happened]

"Very well," he replied. "Just getting in another meditation session. Juliet wasn't very agreeable with the idea of quiet time this morning."

[trigons_child]

"How was your weekend?" Raven asked, which of course should be translated as "Were you a sad teleporting boy in the park?" She just would never be so blunt.

[sith_happened]

Anakin's smile turned a little sheepish. "Different. Slightly soggy and annoying."

[trigons_child]

"Was that you I spoke to in the park?" Raven asked. She shouldn't smile about it, but she couldn't help it.

[sith_happened]

His cheeks turned a little pink. "Not exactly, but..."

That's a yes, Anakin.

[trigons_child]

"Then I hope slightly soggy was the worst of the experience," Raven said. "I wish I had realized it was you, but I did not understand people had been changed until after the weekend. I thought David was just a boy who looked a great deal like you." She wasn't sure what she would have done if she had known. It wasn't like she could lock a teleporter in a closet to make sure he did not come to any harm until he was restored to himself.

"Oh, he got punched and yelled at too," Anakin said. "I can't blame people. I wanted to punch and yell at him."

"He did not seem that annoying to me," Raven said, frowning slightly. Her definition of annoying was far more tolerant than other's.

Anakin laughed. "That's because you're very forgiving."

[trigons_child]

"He was very...emotional," Raven said, being kind with her words. "But at least he was not trying to convince me to use my gifts to harm others."

[sith_happened]

"Who tried that?" Anakin demanded.

[trigons_child]

Raven hesitated, biting at her lip. She didn't want to upset Sam by talking about him, but Lucifer had been mentioned on the radio. "A friend was not himself," she said. "But he knew who -- what -- I am, and tried to convince me that using my gifts to cause harm would not be a bad thing if done to protect myself. I did not act on that advice, of course."

"Good," Anakin said. "Self-defense is a perfectly acceptable reason to use powers, but I think we need to work you up to that point."

[trigons_child]

"I think he wished me to open a doorway to my father's influence," Raven said quietly. "I learned later that he was a powerful demon."

[sith_happened]

Anakin hissed in a breath and reached up to massage the sudden headache in his temple. "Of course he was. He's gone now?"

[trigons_child]

"Most definitely," Raven said, nodding. "I spoke to him yesterday, and he was feeling guilty about what the demon had done even though it was not his fault at all." She hesitated another moment, then said, "It was Sam. He was...Lucifer." She figured Anakin would figure it out easily enough if he checked the radio broadcasts, and Sam hadn't asked her to keep it a secret, so there was no need to fret about keeping something from Anakin.

Anakin had been on Earth long enough to recognize that name. "Sithspit," he cursed.

(He thought the curse was pretty hysterical, really.)

"We had a whole discussion in Ethics about feeling guilt for things that happen over weekends when people aren't themselves," he said, changing tacks. "Do you think the apology was necessary?"

Raven shook her head. "I told him he had nothing to apologize for," she said. "It was not as if he had been turned into a girl but was still himself in every other way. He had no control over what Lucifer did."


[WTF, I know I replied to this yesterday. BAD LJ, BAD.]

Anakin nodded. "It's hard to accept that when you can remember at least part of what the other person was doing."

[trigons_child]

"That is understandable," Raven agreed. "I hold no blame toward Sam for what Lucifer said, however. I know that the Sam who is my friend would never encourage me to abuse my gifts."

[sith_happened]

"That is very true," Anakin said. "And if I were in my right mind, I wouldn't whine nearly that much."

Oh, Anakin, you liar.

[trigons_child]

"Oh, yes," Raven said. "And your hair is much nicer than his." Oops, that was supposed to be just in her head.

[sith_happened]

Anakin snickered. "I hadn't really spent much time thinking of it."

[trigons_child]

Liar.

"I am just very pleased I did not change," Raven said, hastily changing the subject. "It was disconcerting enough to be a boy. Though I admit I am curious as to who I would have become."

[sith_happened]

"The island has a sense of humor about it," Anakin replied. "One year I was a talking lion."

[trigons_child]

"A talking lion?" Surely she hadn't heard that correctly.

[sith_happened]

"It was an odd weekend," Anakin said, blushing and looking away.

[trigons_child]

Raven wouldn't press for details, so she changed the subject again. "I am going to Azarath next week, I think," she said. "I am waiting for Dinah to return. She is going to go with me."

[sith_happened]

"You'll be careful," Anakin ordered, meeting Raven's eyes.

[trigons_child]

Raven nodded, meeting his gaze, though her eyes were sad. "There should be no danger," she said. "If we are seen, they will tell us to leave, but no one there would harm us. By Azarath's rules, when I left I forsook the right to ever return. They would think me corrupted now."

[sith_happened]

"What's so important to return for?" he asked. "Is someone sick?"

Which was what had driven him back to Tatooine, after all.

[trigons_child]

"For information," Raven said. "If those who told me they want my help to stop my father from entering this dimension have truly worked to stop him in the past, there will be record of it in Azarath's library."

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded thoughtfully. "Then be very, very cautious," he said. "He might be watching too."

[trigons_child]

"I will be," Raven promised. "We will go at a time when most everyone will be in the temple for meditation. It should not take us long at all."

[sith_happened]

"So when will you return?" he asked.

Not that he'd worry. Really.

[trigons_child]

"We will go after classes on Monday," Raven said, "and I do not expect to be gone longer than an hour, if even that much."

[sith_happened]

"Leave me a message when you return?" Anakin replied.

[trigons_child]

"Of course," Raven said. "I will not forget to do so." And hopefully her mun wouldn't either.

[sith_happened]

"Then I look forward to seeing you next week," Anakin said with a smile.
