Anakin was running a little late today, having served as a Santa in Aeryn's class.

Even without the suit, he was still hearing Christmas bells everywhere. That, added to being shot this weekend (and thank you so much, creepy, dyed-hair Dean), put him in a truly excellent mood.

The door was open, though.

"Surely it would not be unethical if it were something equivalent meant in the same spirit," Raven said. "It would only be fair."

Anakin grinned. "I like how you think. Perhaps I can get her son something very loud with batteries that cannot be removed."

"Only if you are certain you will not be called upon to babysit," Raven pointed out.

Anakin looked thoughtful. "Think she'd do that?"

"It is the path I might consider as retaliation," Raven said, Quite Seriously.

"And Aeryn is clever," Anakin mused aloud. "Perhaps something for her husband, then. I wouldn't have to babysit John."

"That might be a better idea," Raven said with a soft laugh. Then, hesitantly, she asked, "Were you off-island this weekend?"

"I wish," Anakin said ruefully. "I wouldn't have ended up shot that way."

"But you are all right now?" Raven said. Well, duh, he wouldn't have been playing Santa if he were injured, but she still had to make certain.

"Oh, I woke up completely fine," Anakin said, shaking his head. "I need to have a conversation with John Winchester about his family's violent tendencies during these sort of weekends."

"But they were not truly themselves, were they?" Raven said. "Any more than I was." And there went the blushing again. She was going to be doing that a lot for the next few days.

"Doesn't mean I'm not going to give him grief for it," Anakin said, lips quirking up.

"It is good you can find some amusement in Fandom's strange sense of humor," Raven said. She kind of doubted she'd ever find Mistress Raven humorous, though.

"I've been here a very long time," Anakin said. "The random music today doesn't even phase me."

"I will happily take music over the goings on this past weekend," Raven sighed.

"What happened to you?" Anakin asked.

Raven ducked her head. "I was a student living a double life as a dominatrix so I could make money to put myself through college so I could find my father and take revenge upon him for abandoning my mother, except I was starting to enjoy the occupation too much." Well, that's what she said, but so quickly that it might've been a little hard to understand.

Anakin might not have understood all of the details, but he'd certainly caught "dominatrix," and wasn't all that anxious to ask for specifics.

He chose instead to ask, "Are you all right?"

"I am physically unharmed," Raven said. "And after speaking with others who were affected, I think I can accept that whoever I was, it was not drawn from somewhere inside me. And I have healed at least one that I...practiced my trade upon."

"It's difficult not to feel guilty for things that happen over such weekends," he counseled. "Even if you weren't in your right mind."

"I am trying to learn to let such things trouble me for long," Raven said. "But each time I think I am prepared for what Fandom has planned for me, I find I am very wrong."
