Anakin, after his weekly spar with Ben, was in his office getting a head start on Christmas shopping. It was Juliet's first, after all, and he might be going a little crazy.

Maybe.

...she'd totally be able to use that many stuffed animals, okay?

The door was open. Someone save Anakin from himself and drag him off of the Toys R Us website.

Hayley had sort of forgotten she'd planned to check in with Anakin every so often, so it'd been far too many weeks since she stopped in his office. And after her poor showing in the last Ethics discussion, she thought it all the more important.

She stepped just inside the door and looked like she was desperately trying to keep the smile on her face.

"Master Skywalker?" she said, a note of hesitation in her voice.

Anakin glanced up. "Hayley. Come in."

"Are you okay, Master Skywalker?" Hayley said. "Havin' a good day and everythin'?"

She was nervous, even more so than normal.

"I ran slightly afoul of a herd of marauding tomatoes getting her, so I would say it's average," Anakin declared.

There wasn't, it should be noted, a spot of anything tomato-related on Anakin's robes (or his hair, Force forbid). He was very good at what he did.

"...marauding tomatoes?" Hayley said. "I don't think I understand."

Hayley wasn't much of a salad girl, she'd not encountered anything odd yet today.

"Tomatoes with big sharp teeth," Anakin said with a nod. "You haven't been outside much today, huh?"

Hayley shook her head. "I been taking it easy. I slept in and everything. I was up late last night." She nodded sagely.

"Nothin' bad. Just TV."

Anakin blinked. "I wasn't going to ask. At all."

"Ask about what?" Hayley said. "Me sleeping? You're not worried about me?"

Jaina'd missed the last couple weeks, not wanting to start a fight already when she didn't want to talk about what was going on. At least if she had to explain herself today, she was prepared for it.

"Hi," she said from the doorway.

He smiled at her. "You made it this week. I'm glad."

He'd been worried that their last conversation hadn't gone as well as he'd thought.

"Sorry about that," she said with a sheepish smile as she came in to take a seat. "It's been kind of a rough couple weeks."

Anakin leaned in, placing his elbows on his desk. "Tell me about it?"

It was probably clear that Jaina didn't want to talk about it, but she was trying to make the effort, after all. "Uh. John's time sped up again."

She hoped that lead-in would be better than just saying it, considering who she was talking to.

"By how much?" Anakin asked. He had a bad feeling about this.

[solo_sword]

"A month for every day," she replied. "He graduated from college last week."

As a guy who'd been gone for twenty years to come back and realize that Fandom had only moved a couple of days, Anakin had a sudden rush of sympathy for John.

...not that he'd admit it.

"I'm sorry," he said, meaning it.

Raven might've been disturbed to know she was third in line today instead of first. If she had realized that. But at least today she wasn't drenched in angst and emo, or vegetable juices, since she hadn't been outside yet.

"Good morning, Professor Skywalker," she said.

"Hello, Raven," Anakin said.

He was also not covered in veggies because he was just that awesome.

"How was your class?"

Raven would have to agree!

"Professor Sun dismissed us early," Raven said. "She had to go deal with a cucumber, but I am not certain I heard her correctly. She did talk to us about gremlins, which I have been fortunately enough not to encounter."

"It's been a while since Aeryn's gotten a chance to shoot things," he said with a quick grin. "The veggie invasion should be right up her alley."

Look how he avoided the gremlin topic entirely.

Blink.

"...veggie invasion?" she repeated. "There really are vegetables attacking people?"

"I took out more vegetables on the way back from the gym than have ever been in the fridge at home," Anakin said with a laugh.

"If this were Azarath, my home would be doomed," Raven said.

Anakin nodded. "I've dealt with extreme pacifists," he said. "Is there no one they could call to for help?"
