Office hours [all day]

Anakin was in his office catching up on the radio broadcasts of the last few days. "Increased chance of gremlins, huh?" he said sourly, glaring at his computer, then around the room.

"They'd know better."

Silly Anakin.

The door was open.

"Professor Anakin," Azula greeted. She wasn't here because she needed guidance, she was here because she needed a question answered.

"Master Skywalker," he corrected, arching an eyebrow up. "Come in, Azula."

"Master Skywalker," she said with a nod. She entered his office.

"How was your first week?" Anakin asked.

"Interesting," she answered. She studied him. "What are you master of, if you won't mind me asking?"

"I'm part of an order in my home galaxy called the Jedi," he replied. "I've spent my life learning their discipline."

So, Tahiri was right.

"You also have one of those lightsaber swords?"

Raven had missed her weekly visit last week due to the change in office hours, but she was here today. "Good morning, Professor Skywalker," she said from the doorway.

If she had known there might be an increased chance of gremlins, she probably would've stayed hiding in her room, just to be safe.

Anakin smiled. "Raven. Come in. How are your classes?"

She moved into the office and took a seat. "Yours is the one I looked forward to the most, and I was not disappointed," she said. "And I am enjoying Lady Ghanima's religion class as well. I am also taking Art with Professor Chevalier, but I am not quite sure what to make of him. And this morning I had Professor Sun's class, though I asked to be excused."

"Why did you need to be excused from Professor Sun's class?" Anakin asked, brows furrowing.

"She was covering shooting and handling guns today," Raven said. "I was not comfortable, but I did remain to observe after I spoke with her about how I felt. Violence, even simulated, makes me feel ill. I know I must force myself to become more accustomed to it, however."

Anakin nodded. "It's one of the more difficult situations an empath gets put into," he replied.

And what, in his mind, made Jacen turning Ben into an assassin so unforgivable.

"It's an excellent chance to work on shielding, though," he added, "and distancing yourself from what you are experiencing."

Let's see where Jaina fell on that 40% chance of moodiness thing, hm? "You know I have a schedule," she said from the doorway, "and you switching days on me really throws it off."

"Take it up with the office," he replied. "They have me teaching on Thursdays now."

"Truth be told, it frees up the end of the week," she said, finding a seat. "Have I missed anything?"

"Tell John I say hello," Anakin said, proud of himself for not rolling his eyes. "And other than new people at Fight Club, not really."

"I missed this week," she admitted. "Anyone good?"

"I'm better than Kyle Katarn," Anakin replied pettily immediately.

Tahiri had finally caught up on the last few days' radio broadcasts herself, and while there wasn't enough in there about the . . . fun she'd had the last few days to set off most people's warning signals, she didn't want Master Skywalker to catch any of those bits and assume the worst.

Her grand plan here was to show up after her class (she figured she wasn't in any trouble for the trip into space by now anyway) and join the conga line act like she was fine. Because that'd work so well.

"You changed days," she said from the doorway.

"I'm teaching class on Thursday," Anakin replied, "and that tends to be enough to break my brain for the day." He waved her inside.

"Fun bunch of students again?" Tahiri asked as she came in and took a seat, honestly curious. Still totally casual here.

"Always," Anakin replied. "No one's gotten detention yet."

The tone of his voice made it obvious he didn't think that would last the semester.

Tahiri was a little surprised they'd made it through the first week unscathed, actually. "I'm sure they'll make that up to you fast enough."

"I have no doubts," Anakin said, who already had a heavily notated list of the people in the class and where he thought they would give him problems. "How have you been?"

It wasn't just polite small talk for him to ask.
