"And if he won't, the rest of us will," Anakin said.

"I'm glad to hear it," Ender said, smiling. Though really, he'd only take Anakin up on that offer if Ben insisted. "Anyway, that's the big news - besides the name change."

"I was wondering if that was a permanent thing or just situational," Anakin admitted.

"Permanent," Ender said quietly, "and situational all at once. 'Ender Wiggin' is a poisoned name in my galaxy, now."

He should know. He poisoned it himself.

"I know the feeling," Anakin said a little quietly. "Welcome to the family, Ender."

"Thank you," Ender replied. "I'll try not to abuse the name."

That was a joke.
