So far her mornings seemed to be work, then seeing people she needed to see, and possibly more work. It was after this first part of work that Jaina came by, greeting him with, "If there's anyone traumatic coming this weekend, please let me know now."

Anakin looked up and smiled. "I was going to ask you the same thing. Is your father coming back?"

"Mom actually said she'd try, but she and Dad had to get sidetracked again, so I doubt it," Jaina said, stepping inside. "But Kyp's coming."

Toootally looking for the reaction.

Anakin's jaw dropped. "Ha ha ha?" he tried.

[solo_sword]

That was a good reaction. "Why would that be a joke?" she wondered.

"Because you like seeing if you can make my head explode?"

[solo_sword]

She didn't deny it. "It's true, though. He got leave to come by and everything somehow." Um, because it was Jag he was reporting to, and it was for Jaina.

"Fantastic," Anakin grumbled. "I'm looking forward to this."

He gave Jaina a small smile. "Can I hit him?"

"No," she said immediately. "Everyone is going to behave this weekend."

[sith_happened]

"I will if he will," Anakin said sulkily. "He blew up a worldship full of civilians."

[solo_sword]

"Which turned out to be a win for us, and something I might have agreed to if I'd known about it rather than being tricked into it," Jaina said. "He'll be good." She hoped.

Anakin stared at her. "You would have knowingly killed thousands of civilians if you'd only known about it?"

[solo_sword]

"Maybe. I don't know. I can't say for sure in hindsight. I know we needed that boost. But if we'd known about it beforehand things could have been different." She waved it off. "It'd done, and now it's a hypothetical, and we'll come to the next moral bridge burning when we get to it."

Anakin looked anything but reassured by that. "I'm looking forward to having a chat with Durron, then."

[solo_sword]

"He has nothing to do with my opinion of it now," Jaina said. "I got even with him for it. And I don't know that he could even do that again."

"I'd like to check," Anakin said stubbornly.

[solo_sword]

"Yeah, I'm sure he's expecting that," she assured him.

[sith_happened]

"Unless he's very, very stupid," Anakin said, "he should be."

[solo_sword]

"He also didn't know about you till recently, so he deserves a little leeway in the foresight department here."

[sith_happened]

"A very little," Anakin said. "He's a Jedi Master. He should be prepared for anything."

[solo_sword]

"He's also been working just as hard as I have for almost as long as I have and deserves a weekend to pretend he's embarrassing me and John when he should be having a break," she said.

"Is Luke getting a weekend off?" Anakin asked.

[solo_sword]

"Not this weekend, but he's had some," Jaina said honestly.

[sith_happened]

"Then Durron might get a little leeway," Anakin agreed oh-so-magnanimously.

Of course his definition was different than most people's.

"Should I just hit my head against the doorframe till I stop wanting to believe that anything I can say will stop this from being a disaster?"
