33 Apocalypse Avenue [afternoon]

Anakin had gotten Jaina's message about leaving, so after driving back from Connecticut, he'd dragged down the bag of Force-sensitive toys he'd been working on (and he might've gone just a tad overboard) from his bedroom and waited in the living room for Jaina to stop by on her way to the causeway. He flipped on his comlink while he waited and sent out a signal for Artoo to come over as well.

He had some unfinished business with the droid.

[OOC: Anakin's expecting a couple of people, but open to anyone who might be in the house, too.]

On her way out, Jaina stopped at the house, bag over her shoulder. She rang the bell, hoping it was Anakin that answered rather than someone else she didn't know. She didn't have a lot of time to be awkward today.

Anakin answered the door with a smile. "I know how they get about making a shuttle wait," he said, "so I won't hold you for long."

"Thanks," Jaina said gratefully. "I'm not sure how long it's been there. I sort of feel bad I made it wait till I got out of class."

"If they give you no notice, they can cool their jets while you tie up some loose ends," Anakin said firmly. "The Rogues finally call?"

[solo_sword]

"Nope. Uncle Luke. And considering how fast time moves over there, this was advance notice. It's time for a big Jedi meeting, that's all," she shrugged.

Anakin waved over the bag of toys. "In that case, you can deliver these," he said, sounding almost shy.

She looked at the bag, and raised her eyebrows at him. "You've kept yourself busy."

His cheeks went pink. "Some of them are more advanced," he said. "The baby needs to be a toddler to have the attention span to make the sandbox work. I wasn't sure how many other Force-sensitive younglings might be running around."

It wasn't going to make up for what he did, but anything he could do to help the next generation, yeah, he'd try.

"If I wasn't leaving now, you would have had that kid set up till the teenage years, huh?" she guessed.

Totally.

"Maybe," Anakin said.

She tried not to smile as she took the bag. "I'll take these for now, you can worry about the ages 4 through 8 range for the next trip."

"That's a plan," he said, smiling as he reached out to touch her cheek. "May the Force be with you, my Jaina. Come back to us soon."

"I will," she said with a little smile. "Provided I don't get a hernia on my way to the shuttle. I'll see you later."

A few minutes after Jaina left, Artoo tootled at the door.

"Come in, Artoo," Anakin said, opening the door. "We're going to do some upgrades. My tools are up in my room."

Artoo wheeled over to the stairs, then gave Anakin an imploring whistle.

He chuckled. "Sorry," he said, waving his hand and boosting Artoo up the stairs, then pointing him in the right direction.

Artoo whistled to himself and wheeled into Anakin's room.

Anakin closed the door carefully behind them and knelt down. "Let's see what you've got hidden inside," he said softly. "Naberrie."

Artoo chirped and cued up the footage of Padmé thanking him for a job well done.

Something, he might note, the Skywalkers didn't do nearly often enough.

Anakin raised an eyebrow at Artoo. "We say thank you," he said.

No they didn't.

"You can keep that projection," he said softly. "What else do you have in there? Anything of Padmé and I."

Artoo spun in a circle. He had lots of footage of that. Anakin was going to need to be much more specific.

There was a brief pause as Artoo sorted through files, then three figures lit up above Artoo's dome.

Anakin's breath caught in the back of his throat. Had he ever been that young? His fingers reached out towards Padmé's face as she gazed into the holographic eyes of her new groom, memorizing the moment.

"Delete file."
