Tuxedo Shop, Alexandria [Friday]

Anakin had been in the tuxedo shop alone for five minutes and had already been ogled helped by three different shop assistants.

"No ruffles," he said, making a face. "And no hats. And nothing that shiny."

He kept glancing more and more desperately towards the door, hoping a groomsman or two would save him.

As if the universe was listening to Anakin's hopes, Kawalsky walked through the door. He didn't really look like he fitted in since he was wearing a t-shirt, jeans and a jacket, but he thought he looked better than a seemingly uncomfortable Jedi in the shop.

It was still weird seeing an older Anakin and not the broody Padawan he knew first and rickshaw raced with. "Honey, I'm home."

Anakin gave him a huge grin. "I've never been so happy to see you in my life," he said. "Please tell these people my religion prohibits crushed velvet."

"I'm wounded that you're not always so happy to see me," Charlie replied. "Folks, Anakin here is a former monk." Close enough. "He found the girl of his dreams and he's gonna marry her, but not in crushed velvet or ruffles or anything shiny. Go easy on the guy, okay? Nice, simple outfits." He gave Anakin a look. "Possibly something with capes."

Anakin laughed. "But no underwear on the outside. We don't need to look like superheroes."

Jack was wearing a suit, because he knew he looked good in one, and he sauntered in. "So you're definitely not going with the naked wedding option?"

He was smirking his usual smirk, but underneath it he was more than a touch wary, because he had no idea why Anakin would want him to be in his wedding party.

Unless it was simply because he was just that pretty. It wouldn't be the first time he'd been an accessory.

Anakin gave him a warm smile. "Hygiene issues," he said, nodding. "And the wedding's at night, so there's a chilliness factor I'm not prepared to deal with."

"Both excellent points." He smirked again. "Shame, though."

Jack glanced around the shop, catching the eye of one of the attendants. He smiled, raised an eyebrow, made eye contact, and had to smother a laugh as the guy went red.

But he still looked interested.

"So, where do we start?" he asked as he turned back to Anakin. "Got any ideas for what you want? Black, red, white, sleek, ruffled, leather...or there's always the kilt option."

"Harkness," Kawalsky said eventually, hands shoved in his pockets. He was looking a lot scruffier than the last time they'd met, but then Jack wouldn't have remembered that. Sometimes he liked being the one who was able to remember things.

"Kawalsky." Jack eyed him warily, but for Sam's sake, he could get along with him. "How's things?"

"Tails are nice," Angel suggested, since he liked the classics. Then he remembered where the bride and groom had met. "On the coat. Not like a mutation."

Anakin looked a little too relieved by the distinction. "Tails would be hard to explain in Connecticut," he said.

Then he paused. "Though maybe not in Stars Hollow..."

"White tie is more formal," Angel said. Because he was all about the clothes and being an old fuddy-duddy.

"Tails look good," Kawalsky agreed. "On the coat," he also added. Apparently one clarification wasn't enough. "Unless the groom wants to wear a cape."

Angel looked from Anakin to Kawalsky and back again. Not sure how much Kawalsky knew about Anakin's past, Angel went with "...maybe a different accesory for this groom."

"Aww, no hats?" John frowned as he moved through the aisles. "I was so looking forward to wearing a sombrero!"

"You can try to explain how they go with the bridesmaids' dresses," Anakin laughed.

"Rory's just lucky I'm going to be nice and not wear one of those hats with the propellers on top," John said. "And say I was going to fly away during the entire ceremony."
