Anakin smiled. "I remember. Padmé wasn't particularly thrilled with how long it took to get dressed in the morning."

"Thank god for slip on shoes. I don't think I would have been able to reach them if I had to tie them," she admitted.

"Anyway, the reason I'm here, well, I'm sorry that she thought you were crazy." Logically Isabel knew it wasn't her. But she still felt sheepish.

Anakin shrugged. "She wasn't acclimated to our brand of weird. It's probably better she found me than someone running around in a cape and tights."

"She was from LA. That? She could have dealt with. Instead she woke up with a gay party boy, then got semi-accosted by my brother's evil duplicate." Isabel shook her head, "Which was why she wound up in Caritas looking for a drink. Poor girl had a rough weekend."

"Sounds like it," Anakin said with a small smile. "I had to bail Luke out of jail on Monday."

"Jail? Seriously? What'd he do?" she asked. Somehow the image of Luke behind bars didn't compute.

"Kidnapped three people," Anakin said, rolling his eyes.

"Okay, that is taking the weekend wackiness to a whole level," Isabel chuckled.

"Only my family, I swear," Anakin sighed.

"But it's still great having them here isn't it?"

Anakin nodded with a small smile.

"I get that. One of my brothers is here now," Isabel told him with a smile of her own. "Three years younger then I'm used to. But still Michael. It's making life interesting."

Anakin smiled. "What does Max think?"

"My Max and Michael are highly amused. They said don't break his brain too badly," she said. "Too bad that happened in the first twenty-fours when he realized that everyone here knew about the alien thing. Michael wasn't happy at first. But he's doing okay now."

"I don't think he's told his Max and Isabel. It's before Liz was shot for him. So no one knows about them at all."

Anakin nodded. "It's best not to screw up the time line," he agreed. "I know things about Luke's future that he doesn't."

"Yeah, I don't want to be the one to make the world implode," Isabel agreed. "Although I wonder. I mean, just by him being here, things are different. But for the sake not tying my brain in knots, I'm just going with trying not to say too much."

"And I don't want to be the one to tell him that there's no happy homecoming."

"Definitely not," Anakin said, shaking his head. "His future could still be different from yours. When Qui-Gon was here, he learned things that could change his version of me and my life." He shrugged. "No future is written in stone."

"Exactly. I just hope his is a good one. He's had some bad breaks so far. I think being here will be good for him."

"Anyway, I'll get out of your hair, but before that? I heard something about an engagement? Congratulations," Isabel said with a warm smile.

Anakin smiled back, blushing. "The big event's not for years yet."

"So? It's just more time to look forward to the big event. And for Rory to plan it." Isabel admired her organizational skills. "I assume she's already started?"

Anakin chuckled. "There was barely room for me on the sofa."

"That's...not surprising at all," she laughed. "Well give her my best."

"It was nice talking with you and again, sorry about the crazy."

"Crazy happens," Anakin said, shooing her towards the door with a smile. "If you actually get pregnant, that's a whole different thing."

"Oh hell no. Anakin, I promise you, this weekend was the biggest PSA for birth control ever," she said with a shudder. "I'm not ready for Miss Victoria or any other potential kidlet to make an appearance for a long, long time."
