Yale, Monday night [way late]

It had been a long, long few days, and Anakin had spent the time since he'd arrived back from Colorado staring at the walls of his office and hoping he'd done the right thing.

He knew he had office hours the next day. He knew that it would be a long drive up and back.

He didn't care.

Which was why he slipped into Rory's suite with the key she'd given him--after checking to make sure Paris wasn't around (she looked like she could wield a mean frying pan)--and slid into bed with her.

Now he could relax.

Rory shifted in her sleep, curling a little closer. "Nghfcold."

"It's cold outside," he murmured, curling closer. "I'll warm up in a second."

Rory cracked an eyelid.

"...am I dreaming you? When'd you get here?"

"Just now," Anakin said with a small smile. "It's not important. Go back to sleep."

"You have office hours tomorrow. I have class," she murmured, still mostly asleep as she snuggled against him.

"I wanted to be here instead," Anakin said, kissing the top of her head, and for him that was an answer.

"Everything okay?" she murmured, kissing his chin.

"Everything's exactly as it should be," he said softly, snuggling into the covers.

"Okay. You staying long tomorrow?" she mumbled, pressing her face into his shoulder.

"Long enough to share a pot of coffee," he promised, clinging tightly.
