"Like what you did with Umbridge," Luke said quietly.

Anakin wondered for a moment what--if anything--Rory had told him, but then discarded the thought. She wouldn't break a confidence.

"That's what I do," he said, voice firm. "I stand between you and things that want to harm you. Or your sister. Or your niece."

"And who watches out for you?" Luke asked softly.

The question brought Anakin up short.

"I do that, too," he said, but he gave his son a small smile, "but if you're volunteering to watch my back occasionally..."
