Office hours [September 19, all day]

Vader was in his office listening to the radio broadcasts for the last two weeks. It was research for Thursday's class.

He'd be annoyed to be interrupted--a none-too-dramatic change from any other time he was awake.

The door was cracked open.

"Interesting," Vader said aloud. "Did you require me for anything?"

//Smells funny,// Buffy repeated, but Machine Man didn't seem to understand her. She huffed at him.

Vader breathed back at her, then glanced at the Zen garden on his desk. "Would you like to chase a stick?" he asked.

Buffy danced around in a circle in response. //Yes! Yes! Play! Fetch!//

Vader carefully snapped the handle from the rake, then tossed the stick across the room.

He couldn't believe he was doing this.

Buffy raced after it, whoofing cheerfully. She found it, picked it up, and holding it carefully between her teeth, bounded back to the man.

She dropped the stick at his feet and looked hopeful.

Vader threw the stick harder--this time it landed out in the hallway.

Buffy raced after it.

The door closed firmly behind the puppy as soon as she got outside.

But Vader would let her keep the stick.
