Anakin was feeling very smug about his choice to not eat candy last night in favor of stealing from his kids' bags tonight because he was Anakin shaped today, which was a good thing because he needed to be Anakin-shaped in order to correctly sabotage the ship of one Atton Rand, who had arrived for Homecoming looking like a sarlaac had spit him out and the refused to say why.

So Anakin would just ground him until he did. Very normal escalation! If you were Anakin!

"I'll be back in a bit!" he yelled theatrically, bounding a hydrospanner against the palm of his hand. "I have some things to do."

"I know," Anakin said. "What is it about missions that drives you?" he asked. "The danger? The doing something important? The time spent with Mical?"

He was pretty sure it wasn't that last thing.

"If we figure that out, we might be able to find something else to scratch that same itch."

Atton groaned. "I'm good at it, I'm useful, and she wanted me to," he said. "And I don't have anything else going on right now."

Anakin sat down, stretching long legs out, and crossed his boots at the ankle. "How much is the nothing going on a factor and how much of it is bluster to hide behind?" he asked.

"What, like your cloak and your dramatic exits?" Atton shot back.

"Exactly like that," Anakin said, for once refusing to be baited.

"Well, I used to come back here and teach and tend bar and hang out with Sparks, didn't I?" Atton shot back. "That's all gone."

"You couldn't tend bar any more?" Anakin asked.

"What's the point?" Atton said. "You're the only person here I even know."

"You could meet more people at the bar," Anakin said.
