Office hours [all day]

Even though it was December, Anakin had all of the windows open in his office to clear out the smell of pipe smoke.

What the H-E-double hockey sticks had he been been thinking last week?

He'd gotten the mistletoe to stay out in the hallway after giving it a stern lecture about teacher/student boundaries and was now going through his exams and administering final grades.

His office was open, if cold.

"Any part," Anakin said, looking a little worried. "Well, other than turning black and white and acting insane as we'll both agree that never happened."

"Because that never happened to me," she said. "I'll tell you if it does."

In truth, it never stopped being tough, but there wasn't really anything she could do about that.

"Want to spar this weekend?"

Because that was how Anakin dealt with emotions.

"Always," Jaina agreed. "It's been a while since I've been able to beat someone here..."

[sith_happened]

"Overconfidence is your weakness," Anakn teased.

[solo_sword]

"Then what's just the right amount of confidence?" she wondered.

[sith_happened]

"I've never been able to figure it out," Anakin admitted. "Less than I showed, apparently."

[solo_sword]

"Well, of course. You're a man and therefore always wrong, so that plays into it."

That was for that 'science is hard for you' comment.

"Hey now," Anakin protested.

[solo_sword]

Jaina just shrugged at him.

[sith_happened]

"This is payback for those things I never said last week," Anakin guessed astutely.

[solo_sword]

"Of course. You didn't really think I'd let those comments go, did you?"

Mind you, she said that sort of stuff to Jag (jokingly) all the time and he just had to deal with it.

"I have met you," Anakin said teasingly.

[solo_sword]

"That just means you should have expected this," Jaina grinned. "Probably when I first walked in."

[sith_happened]

"Probably," Anakin admitted. "I'm betting this won't be the last of my punishment either."

[solo_sword]

"Nah, I can drag this out for a while," she nodded.

[sith_happened]

"And by a while, you mean years?" Anakin guessed.

[solo_sword]

"I didn't, but now that you mention it, I can do years," she said thoughtfully.

Anakin snorted. "You heading home after exams? Because you're welcome to spend Christmas with us."

[solo_sword]

"Yeah, I'll be back home that week," she said, even a little apologetically. "Some time on Coruscant, plus trying to meet up with Jag. I'll miss you guys, though."

[sith_happened]

"But you'll be back," Anakin said, sounding pleased.

[solo_sword]

Jaina smiled. "I will. You get at least another semester out of me."

[sith_happened]

"I'm really looking forward to it," Anakin said.
